ficers for 1962 at this meeting.
On Sunday, Jan. 7, Rev. Britton
will conduct a special inaugural
service for all three societies at

FUNERALS
M. ANASTASIA
Solemn Requiem Mass was
sung in the chapel at Brescia
Hall, London, at 10 a.m. Tues-
day in the funeral for Rev.
Mother M. Anastasia, member
of the Ursuline Community, who
died Saturday night in St. Jos-
eph's Hospital.
Mother Anastasia had been a
teacher for fifty years at St.
Angela's College. London; at
Woodslee, Dublin and Mount
Carmel. She was a member of
the Orsuline Community 58
years.
Mother Anastasia was former-
ly Alice Dertinger. She is sur-
vived by a brother, John Det-
tinger, London.
Service was in charge of E.
C. Killingsworth funeral home.
Burial was in St. Peter's ceme-
tery.
MRS. JOHN C. MAHER
Mabel E. Bullard, wife of
Commissioner John C. Maher,
chairman of New York City
Parole Commission, passed
away at her home in Flushing,
N.Y., on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
Born in McKillop Township,
she was the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Bullard,
of Winthrop, and was a nurse
at Stratford General Hospital
for many years before going to
New York to continue in the
nursing profession, until her
marriage.
Surviving besides her hus-
band are four sons: Rev. John
M., of Seaford, L.I.; Rev. Daniel
B., S.J., of Weston College, Wes-
ton, Mass.; Capt. Kevin L, U.
S.A., of Harmon Air Force
Base, Newfoundland, Canada,
and Thomas R., of New York,
and three grandchildren. Also
surviving are one sisters, Mrs.
George Eaton (Iva), of Seaforth,
Ont., and two brothers, Fergus,
of St. Thomas, and Bill, of
Thamesford.
Rested at the Arthur Bayer -
stock & Son funeral home,
Brooklyn, until Saturday, Dec.
23, when Solemn Requiem Mass
was held at St. Anthony's Rom-
an Catholic Church, 862 Man-
hattan Ave., Brooklyn, at 10:00
a.m. Interment took place in
Calvary Cemetery.
MRS. JAMES REYNOLDS
Mrs. James Reynolds, daugh-
ter of the late Stephen Lamb
and Catherine McQuaid, passed
away at her home in Harpur-
hey on Saturday, Dec. 23, in her
87th year. The deceased was
born in McKillop Township and
married James Reynolds in 1902
in St. James' Church, Seaforth.
She lived in Hullett Township
following her marriage, later
residing in Manitoba for five
years, returning to reside in
Tuckersmith until the time of
her death. She taught school for
six years. Mr. Reynolds prede-
ceased her in 1954.
Surviving are three sons and
one daughter, Cyril, of Cayer,
Manitoba; Gordon and Frank, of
Tuckersmith, and Sister Cyril,
of Sarnia. Also surviving are
one sister, Mrs. Theresa Ray, of
Seaforth, and eleven grandchil-
dren.
The body rested at the home
of her son, Gordon Reynolds,
Harpurhey, until Tuesday,_ Dec.
26, when Solemn Requiem High
Mass was sung by Rev. C. E.
Sullivan, assisted by Rev. Thos.
McQuaid, St. Marys, as deacon,
cousin of the deceased, and Rev.
John McConnell, Chicago, as
sub -deacon. Father Purcell, of
Windsor, was present in the
Sanctuary.
Interment followed in St.
James' cemetery, Seaforth. Pall-
bearers were James McQuaid,
Wilfred McQuaid, Hubert Rey-
nolds, James Kelly, Lou Row-
land and Earl Reynolds.
WALTER C. C. MOFFAT
Funeral serviee was conduct-
ed on Friday, Dec. 15, from the
Ball and Mutch funeral home,
153 High St., Clinton, for Wal-
ter C. C. Moffat. The Rev. A.
H. Johnston, Brucefield, officiat-
ed, accompanied by the Rev. E.
R. Stanway, Toronto.
Members of the session of
Brucefield United Church were
honorary pallbearers. Active
bearers were Donald McKenzie,
Victor Taylor, Clifford Moir,
MR. AND MRS. JOHN LOUIS McCOWAN are seen
following their marriage in Northside United Church.
The bride, the former Leta Hazel Carter, is the daughter
of Russell Carter, Seaforth, and the late Mrs. Carter.
The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mc-
Cowan, RR 1, Seaforth. The couple are residing in Sea -

A quiet wedding was solemn-
ized in Northsidd-. ,Unite d
Church, Seaforth, on Tuesday,
Dec. 26, at 2 o'clock, when
Laura Anne Workman, daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Mole, of Seaforth, ex-
changed wedding vows with
Gregor McGregor, Clifford Stew-
art and Tom Wilbee. Flower -
bearers were Arnold Taylor,
John Beane, Gerald Horton and
Jack McGregor. Interment was
in Baird's Cemetery, Stanley
Township.
Mr. Moffat was born on Feb.
6, 1895, on Concession 3, Stan-
ley Township, the son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Alexan-
der Moffat (nee Christina Camp-
bell).
On November 4, 1922, - he
married Anna Love Fisher, and
they farmed on Concession 3
since then. Mr. Moffat was a
member of the session of Bruce -
field United Church and chair-
man of Baird's Cemetery Board.
Surviving are one son, John
F. at home; one daughter, Mrs.
James (Lois) Streifler, Downey,
California, and one grand-
daughter, Carol Anne Streiller,
Downey, Calif. One brother,
Peter Bryden, predeceased him,
Rev. J. Ure Stewart, of Moore-
field, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. James Stewart, of Gode-
rich. Rev. J. C. Britton officiat-
ed. Mrs. James A. Stewart was
organist, and Mr. Stewart, solo-
ist. ..,
Mrs. Alvl'n---C.• McDonald, of
Brussels, was matron of honor,
and Rev. Clinton A. Brittain, of
Moorefield, was groomsman.
Ushers were Mr. Eugene Hirt
of Tillsonburg, and Mr. Austin
Matheson, Seaforth.
A reception followed the wed-
ding at the bride's residence,
James Street, Seaforth. Guests
from a distance at the wedding
were: Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mc-
Donald and Lynne, Brussels;
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cassidy,
Ingersoll; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
Hirt, Tillsonburg; Miss Laurel

on Sunday morning. The choir,
under the leadership of Mrs.
Murdock, sang a Christmas an-
them; Mrs. Richardson and Mr.
J. K. Cornish, a duet, and Mrs.
William Murdock, Hamilton,
sang a very beautiful solo.
Guests at the manse with Rev.
and Mrs. Johnston were their
son and family, Mr. and Mrs.
James Johnston, Aurora.
We are sorry to report that
Mr. George Baird, Sr., is a pa-
tient in Clinton Hospital.
