M. Caldwell was loading Logs in the bush when one of the logs fell on his leg. Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Venner and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drys- dale enjoyed a pleasant eve- ning attending the London Lit- tle Theatre production of Guys and Dolls Monday evening. It was a wonderful show, produc- tion, costumes, dance numbers, music done to perfection, and thoroughly enjoyed by them. Mr. and Mrs. J: E. McEwen and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Keys, of Exeter, attended the funeral of the late Walter Moffat, of Brucefield, held Friday from the Bali and Mutch funeral home, Clinton. The CGIT of Carmel Presby terian Church brought cheer to the patients of the Queensway Nursing Dome Sunday after- noon, Dec. 17, when they en-' tertained with a medley of car- ols, with the Christmas message intermingled with the carols. The girls numbering ten, ac- companied by their leader, Mrs. Ross D. MacDonald, looked very smart in their new uniforms. The ladies of Carmel Presby- terian Church met at the home of Mrs. Basil Edwards Tuesday afternoon and packed and de- livered 15 Christmas boxes to the sick and shut-ins of the church. Miss Carol Brown was maid of honor and Mrs. Wm. The 11 o'clock hour of worship and a Christmas Eve carol service at 7:30 p.m. The choirs have been engaged in the preparation of special mus- ic. As part of the Christmas Eve carol service, a Christmas gift offering will be received. This offering will be credited to the Missionary and Maintenance Fund and will be used to help others at home and abroad. Rev. Lorne Sparks, of Bay- field, was guest minister at Carmel Presbyterian Church Sunday morning, delivering a very interesting and informative message. The choir, under the direction of Mrs. Malcolrfr Dou- gall, rendered two anthems, the soloists being Mrs. Wm. Brown and Jim Dougall. Flowers in the church were in memory of the late Mr. Leonard Sararas, of the Zurich district, father of Mrs. Jim Love. Mr. and Mrs. Asa Deeves at- tended the Mann - Anderson wedding at St. Andrew's Unit- ed Church, Kipper;, Saturday. The groom is a nephew of Mr. Deeves. Mr. and Mrs. John Jarrott, highly esteemed residents of the village, will on December 30 observe their 47th wedding anniversary. Rev. D. Ross MacDonald was guest minister at First Presby- terian Church, Seaforth, Sun- day morning, Dec. 17. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rose, of Toronto, were weekend guests with the former's aunt, Miss Agnes McEwen. Mr. John Wood, of Iippen, was the winner of $25 worth of groceries at Al's Supersave Market Saturday night. Winners of the $20 worth of groceries at Brown's IGA Mar- ket Saturday night was Mrs. Dorothy Robinson, Varna, and the doll was won by Orville Smith. .Pions�t Vesper Service flans are iinialfzed for the, CGIT candlelight vesper service Sunday evening, Dec. 24, at 8 p.m. at Carmel Presbyterian Church, with the CGIT girls taking the ,ythole service. The mass chop; consisting of the senior chair, Explorers and CGIT will sing two anthems. A Christmas story will be given and old familiar carols sung, and the girls will present a short play. The church will be decorated with the Christmas theme. The girls are looking for- ward to a large attendance.
