The Elimville Mission Band
entertained the Mission Band
of Thames Road Church to a
picnic .on Wednesday after-
noon at Winchelsea School; The
races were as follows: pre-

Lynn, Barry Miller; girls, eight
to 10. Elaine Johns, Pamela

Kathy and Janet were guests
on Sunday for dinner at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ward
Hern. Mr. -and Mrs. Gerald
Tarsitano, newlyweds, from
Chicago, were guests also.
Mr. and Mrs - Harold H•rold Clarke,
Bobby and Eugene attended the
fiftieth wedding anniversary
for Mrs. Clarke's parents, which
was held at, the Legion Hall,
Exeter, on Sunday.
Miss Kathy Hern spent a few
days this past week with Mr.
and Mrs. John Hern and fam-
ily, of Sunshine Line.
Mrs. Howard Dayman, of Kip -
pen, visited on Wednesday eve-
ning with Mr, and Mrs. Wm.
Walters. Gary returned home
after having spent a week's
holidays.
Mr. Gary Hern spent a couple
of days this past week with the
Bibby family at Kirkton.
Mr. and Mrs. Colin Gilfillan,
Grant and Barbara visited on
Sunday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey Smith, of Credi-

Miss Cindy Macdonald is
spending her holidays with Miss
Margaret Anne Prance.
Mr. Gordon Prance returned
to his home on Friday evening.
He had been in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, for the past
three months, having under-
gone an operation on his back.

OMR FAIR DIRECTORS PLAN"
DETAILS FOR ANNUAL FAIR,
Directors and conveners of
committees of 'Blyth Agricul-
tural Society stet Monday eve-
ning in the Library of Memor-
ial Hall. The purpose of the
meeting was to finalize many
plans for the annual fair, to be
held Sept. 19 and 20. A work
bee for both men and women
was arranged for Saturday af-
ternoon, Sept. 16, commencing
at one o'clock.
At the dance .which will fol-
low the fair, tickets will be
drawn on a registered York-
shire gilt, a gift to the society
by the president, Albert Bacon.
The secretary released the
following list of competitors
and their points in the field
crop competition in Shield oats,
sponsored by the society: Robt.
Carter, RR 3, Blyth, 91; Wm.
Gow, RR 2, Auburn, 87; Sam
Pletch, Belgrave, 86; Walter
Scott, Belgrave, 85; Albert Ba-
con, Belgrave, 84; Simon Halla-
han, Belgrave, 83; Walter Os-
ter, Blyth, 80; William Carter,
Blyth, 79; Jack Nesbitt, Blyth,
79; Robert Henry, Blyth, 78;
James McCall, Blyth, 77: Ray
the grain must be exhibited at
the fair. Ten points will be de-
ducted from any competitor
failing to exhibit. Blyth Agri-
cultural Society also sponsor a
field crop competition in en-
silage corn, which will be judg-
ed later.
STAFFA
Staffa WA and WMS meeting
was held Wednesday evening
at the home of Mrs. R. D. Sad-
ler. The meeting opened by
singing a hymn, followed by
the Lord's Prayer. Psalm 715
was read in unison. Miss V.
Hambly read the Scripture tak-
en from Luke 14, verses 15-24.
Mrs. Ross Smale offered the
prayer. Miss Elizabeth Smale
sang "Prayer Perfect." Mrs.
Sadler was in charge of the
topic, "Home Missionaries."
Mrs. Agar was in charge of
the business. Plans were made
for the Presbyterial to be held
at Staffa in October. Plans and
date were made for the Staffa
WA and WMS bazaar. Lunch
Hanna, Auburn, 74: was served by Mrs. R. Sadler
To complete this competition and Mrs, R. Smale.
