Louis Looby opened the first creamery on the site in 1915, according to "A Hibbert Re- view" (Part Two) by Isabelle Campbell. Subsequent owners were Timothy Flynn and Ed- ward Tyers, and later, William • J. Hanley. During this latter period Thomat Butters and Wil- liam Llanley, Jr., were the but- termakers. In 1947, H, H. Rubenstein, of Toronto, purchased the business and it has continued to oper- ate as Dublin Creamery and Poultry Packers, although on occasions it has been leased by other interests. The company has branches at Seaforth and Brussels. fl NAME PRIZE WINNERS AT ST. COLUMBAN GARDEN PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Heuer - mann, RR 1, Dublin, won $500 in a draw at the annual ham supper and carnival at St. Col- umban Wednesday., About 950 people were served at the sup- per in the parish hall. During the evening the various booths were well patronized. A variety program in charge of Mrs. Joseph Melady, and with Miss Patsy Coyne as mas- ter of ceremonies, entertained the crowd. The following took part: Welcome choruses by St. Columban girls, Jean Moylan, Mary Lou Coyne, Jean Maloney, Joan Coyne, Jean Melady, Rita Kennedy, accompanied by Mrs. Thomas Kale; a clog dance by Elaine Murray, St. Columban' piano solo by Jean Melady, St. Columban; a Scotch dance by Miss Christine Turnbull and Ruth Ann Wilson, Seaforth; solo by Larry Murray, St. Col- umban, accompanied by Paul Horan, Dublin; dance by Shar- on and Sheila Dietz, Brodhag- en, accompanied by Joanne El- ligsen; choral reading by pupils of Beechwood School under the direction of Mrs. Michael Mur- ray; instrumental selection by Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Nott and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Holland, CIin- ton; duet by Miss Eileen Smith and Miss Margaret Hillen, ac- companied by Miss Jean Hil- len, Walton; an instrumental quartette from Brodhagen by Keith Simon, Donald Elligsen, Freddie Eckmier, Brian Eck- mier, Frank Jarmuth, directed by Miss Phyllis Hinz; solos by Miss Sharon Strong, Seaforth; rhythm soft shoe dance by Miss- es Christine Turnbull and Ruth Ann Wilson; accordion selec- tion by Miss Geraldine Dennis, Walton; a horn number by Miss Phyllis Hinz; closing choruses by St. Columban girls, "Our Theme Song" and "If We 'All Said a Prayer!'
