Vardy officiated Sat- urday at 2 o'clock at Egmondville United Church, when Mary Irene Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William James Brown, of Tucker- - smith, became the bride of Ken- neth Franklin Morey, son of Mr. Roy Morey and the late Mrs. Morey of Mitchell. Soloist Mrs. Ray Lee sang "Wed- ding Prayer and "0 Perfect Love," accompanied by the church organist, Mr. Lyle Hammond. Given in marriage by her father, ..the bride was lovely in a street - length gown, fitted bodice, with full skirt of silk organza and lace top with long sleeves. Her head- dress of nylon tulle with pearl se- quins held her nylon tulle veil with embroidery design. She car- ried a white Bible with red rose- ' buds. Matron of honor was Mrs. Don- ald Muir, sister of the bride. She wore a yellow nylon and taffeta embroidered gown with matching accessories, and carried blue baby mums. Bridesmaid was Mrs. Barry Beech, of London, sister of the bride. She wore a pink nylon and taffeta embroidered gown with matching accessories, and carried yellow baby mums. Best man was Mr. Thomas Morey, Shakespeare, brother of the groom. Ushers were Mr. Bob Morey, Lind- say, and Mr. Donald Muir, Seaforth. - A reception was held at Mitchell Legion Hall. The bride's mother wore beige figured organza dress with beige accessories, and corsage of yellow and white mums. The groom's stepmother wore a blue figured dress with white accessor- ies and 'corsage of pink and white mums. For travelling, the bride chang- ed to a shocking pink sheath dress with matching colored cluster with white accessories. The couple left on a motor trip to eastern points, and on their return will reside in Mitchell. BEUERMANN- GODKIN Bethel United Church, McKillop, was the setting for the double -ring ceremony, Friday, June 2, when Audrey Viola Godkin became the bride of Lloyd John Edwin Beuer- mann, Rev. W. H. Summerell of- ficiating. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Godkin, and the groom a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Beuermann, of Mc- Killop. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-Iength gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over slipper satin, designed with a moulded bodice, square neckline embroidered with sequins and seed pearls and lily point sleeves. The aisle -wide skirt featured alternate rows of nylon tulle pleating and Chantilly 'lace ruffles. A French illusion finger-tip veil was held by a headpiece in half pillbox style, embroidered with seed pearls and sequins. She carried a white Bible crested with pink roses and ivy. Her attendants were her sisters, Miss Merle Godkin, London, as matron of honor, and Miss Lois Godkin, as bridesmaid. They wore identical gowns of orchid organza over taffeta and carried bouquets of yellow mums and roses. Miss Peggy Dennis, as flower - girl, wore -a mint green nylon frock and carried a similar bouquet. Roy Beuermann, brother of the groom, was best man. The guests were ushered by Don Beuermann and' Lavern Godkin. Roger°"Beuer- mann was ringbearer. Following the ceremony a re- ception was held in Brodhagen Community Centre. The bride's mother wore a beige ensemble with yellow rose corsage and green accessories. The groom's mother wore a mauve sheath with match- ing corsage and accessories. For travelling, the bride chose a• pink stzoller suit with white ac- cessories. The couple will reside on the groom's farm, RR 3, Mit- chell. Prior to her marriage, the bride was guest of honor at a dinner and shower held at Grand Bend and given by the staff and associates of Exeter Hospital. Mrs. Gilbert Smith and Mrs. Stanley Hillen en- tertained friends and neighbors at a miscellaneous shower held at the home of Mrs. Hillen. • LOCAL BRIEFS Miss Ethel McClure,.of Roxboro, was the guest of Mr and Mrs. Zack McSpadden on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Coughlin, of London, were weekend guests of Miss Alice Reid. Misses Bessie and Peg Grieve were in Windsor over the week- end attending the wedding of their nephew, Russell Grieve, and Miss Barbara Kennedy, both of Windsor. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Noyles and two daughters, of" Simcoe, visited over the weekend with Mrs. Mar- garet Sclater and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beniberger. Mars. Mrs. Augusta Powell, who has spent several years in Seaforth, re- turned to her home in Scotland this week. Mrs. Ken Doig, of Sea - forth, is a daughter. Mr. Jack Sproat was a recent guest of Mr. and Mrs. Russell H. Sproat. Mr. Russ Hays, of Detroit, visit- ed relatives in town the past week. Miss Jean Scott and Mrs. Mae Dorrance are in Toronto this week attending the General Assembly of Rebekah Grand Lodge. Mr. John Adams is a patient in Scott Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Martin Van Tright, of RR 1, Arva, and four children are visiting her mother, Mrs. W. J. Duncan. Mr. Ronald Mackay and Miss Ethel Mackay, of Toronto, were guests of Mrs. Harvey Mason and Mrs. J. E. Daley. Mr. and Mrs, Percy Dalton, of Walton, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dalton, of Seaforth, spent the week end in Albany, New York, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wyman Griffin and Joan. Mrs. Griffin is Mrs. Dalton's sister. A number of ladies from North- side Church, were guests of the Brucefield ladies on Tuesday af- ternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Willis and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. L. Hemberger and Marian and Mr. and Mr -s. D. O. Noyles and daughters, of Sim- coe, attended a dinner in the Zur- ich New Dominion Hotel on Sun- day, the occasion being Mr. and Mrs. Hemberger's 25th wedding anniversary. At a meeting Thursday night the group decided to place a team in the league if the league operated this year. An organization meeting for the Huron Football Association is planned for the Winthrop -p. Hall Monday night, June 12, according to league secretary Leon Maloney. Miss Wilma Dale Is Huron County Dairy Princess. Miss Wilma Dale, RR 1, Clinton, was chosen Dairy Princess for Hur- on County at the 57th annual Clin- ton Spring Fair Saturday. The 17 - Looby Construction Wins Contracts - The tender of Looby Construc- tion Company, of Dublin, for $58,- 277.60 to build the Russell Street bridge, Kincardine, was accepted by Kincardine town council Mon- day. Total cost is estimated at $97,500 and work is to be completed by fall. Tenders ranged up to $78,- 083,75. -4n Tuesday the Looby firm was informed it had been awarded a contract to build a bridge in Lamb - ton County. The amount is $58,700.
