Mr. Hodgert, of Exeter, is visit-
ing his son, Mervyn Hodgert, and

Mr. and Mrs. Boris Bruder,, of
Montreal, with her parents, Mr.

Mr. and Mrs: Ralph Hicks spent
the weekend on a trip to Ganan-
oque and other points on the occa-
sion of their tenth wedding anni-
versary.
Mr. and Mrs. August Scherbarth
in -Desboro on Sunday with their'
daughter, Mrs. Calvin Gilok, and
visited Rev. Calvin Glick at Own
Sound Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Wolfe in
Sebringville for the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Hinz. Her moth-
er, Mrs. John Hinz, is visiting here.
Master David Schellenberger, of
Mitchell, spent the Easter holidays
with his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Bennewies.
The Brodhagen Band held their
annual meetingrecently. The new
executive ares. president, Clayton
Ahrens; vice'president, Norman
Rock; secretary, Arthur Diegel;
treasurer, Ray' Scherbarth; band
leader, Albert Hinz; assistant band
leader, Clare French. All uniforms
and band instruments are to be
turned in for alterations.
Mr. and Mrs._ Wilfred Ahrens
spent. Sunday in Hamilton with
Donald Ahrens. Mrs. Rachel Ah-
rens and Kenneth Ahrens returned
home with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tiffin and
Bruce, of Toronto, spent the week
end with Mr. and . Mrs. Fred Her-
bert.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scherbarth,
of Detroit, and Mrs: John L Ben-
newies, who spent the winter
months with her family in Wind-
sor, Ruthven and Detroit, are at
.the latter's home here.

Janice Elaine Wurdell, infant
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mervin
Wurdell, was baptized during the
Sunday morning service with Mr.
and Mrs. Gorden Wurdell and Miss
Laurene Scherbarth and Robert
Regele; the sponsors, along with
the parents.
Baskets of flowers were in the
chancel of the church on Sunday
from the funeral of Mrs. Henry
Dietz.
After the Sunday morning ser-
vice, Rev. E. J. Fischer shocked
the congregation by announcing
his resignation, to take effect,May
15. He has accepted a call to Elm-
wood. Rev. and Mrs. Fischer have
been here the past five years.
Mr. Wm. Diegel is spending this
week in St. Catharines with Mr.
and Mrs. W. Meisner, doing some
work.
Mrs. Rachel Ahrens while visit-
ing in Hamilton last week, also
visited Mr, and Mrs. Clayton Carl-
ton at Wilson, N.Y., and Mr. and
Mrs. John G. Hinz and Mr. and
Mrs. Don Barber, Guelph.

BARBARA KIRKMAN AUXILIARY
The thankoffering meeting of, the
Barbara Kirkman Auxiliary' was
held recently in the schoolroom of
First• Presbyterian Church with
visitors from Brucefield, Northside,
St. Thomas' Anglican and Eg-
mondville churches present. Mrs.
Reg Kerslake presided for the
president, Mrs. W. A. Wright, and
Mrs. J. E. Patterson opened the
meeting with a reading, which was
followed with a hymn and prayer.
Miss M. J. Habkirk and Mrs.
Wallace Ross received the collec-
tion.' Mrs. M. R. Rennie accom-
panied Mrs. F. Kling when she
sang, "I Walked Today Where
Jesus Walked." Mrs. Keith Sharp
read the Scripture lesson. from
Luke, and Mrs. Q. Ruth led in
prayer.
