The OHA (Ontario Horticul- tural Association) approved the launch of Garden Ontario Week in 2015 and is held annually during the 3rd week of June. There are many events and activities being organized throughout Ontario during this time. From plant sales to flower shows, workshops to guided tours, there is something for everyone and everyone is invited. Seaforth and District Horti- cultural Society will be setting up a display in the Maitland Mobile Veterinary Services' store front on main street in Seaforth during Gar- den Ontario Week. We encourage you to stop by and see what your local Society is all about. Many society mem- bers work hard at keeping our community blooming with beautiful flowers and gar- dens. Baskets and planter boxes are now flowing with colour on main street and flower beds have all been brought back to life with the planting of new flowers for the season. Please take a lei- surely stroll throughout our town and enjoy the delightful work that has been done. The Seaforth Horticultural Society keeps busy throughout the year and has an exciting list of events lined up. On May 14th the Annual Plant & Bake Sale was held. A big "thank you" to all that came out to support this wonderful event. Monthly meet- ings are held at Northside United Church on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm and always include a guest speaker, garden tour or a fun event. Last month they had the pleasure of listening to Susanne Robinson, Robinson Maple Products and on June 8th Liz Malicki, "New Zealand - A Horticultural Wonderland" will be the guest speaker. On July 13th there will be a bus trip to Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, for tickets please call Heather at 519-527- 1832. Garden tours have been planned for August.
