sick from the same cause, and Dr. F.
Campbell, of Hepworth was called,
and succeeded in getting her out of
danger, but a few days ago a relapse
set in and she was again taken si4k,
along with her washis husband and
his father. Dr. Campbell was again
&lied as was also Dr. Gimby, ;_of
Wiarton, but the poor womaa was be-
yond medical aid and died on Tuesday
morning: At.the time of writing, the
other patients are progressing favorable
Mr. Johnston sr. is altogether .out of
danger, and -if no relapse eccurs
couple of days will see Richard out of
danger. •
What particular plant it is that has
• such deadly effects cannot be accurate-
ly 'determined, as no _medical Authors
speak of it to any extent.. Veterinar-
ians claim it to be EC sort. of -fungoid
growth that is left on the grass when

delegates' from all parts, of the South
Riding of Bruce, who were enthusias-
tically -in favor of bringing out a candi-
date in the interests of the Patrons of
Industry.
The organization of the South Bruce
Association of Patrons of Industry for
electorial purposes was completed with

A 'very pleasant event took place
at the residence of Mr. James Brown,
on Wednesday, Oct 26th, when Miss
Cabipbt311 and Mr, Nathaniel Siunder
were united in the holy bonds of
matrimony. •After the ceremony was
.over they and a.- number of invited
guests sat down to a. sumptuous repast
to which they all did ample justice.
We join the _Sentinel in wishing them
a pleasant journey down the stream tf

-plays find dialogues was taken part by
the local talent of this and the surround
in.g neighborhood. The splendid- har-
monica band of this pla.ce opened the
meeting, and not withstanding the fact
that _their leader, Mr. Charles McKin-
non, was not present, they were well
recieved• and enchored. 4' Miss
,Mary McDonald sang a solo which was
well recieved.- The fete of the evening
was a play entitled the "Doctor's life"
and it is - acknowledged by all
present that the boys of Rapid City
as amateur actors are peerless. Among
those from a distance which took 'part
in the programme were Mr. Geo. Ellis
from Luanow, whose Irish songs
were received with great applause.
The Misses Patterson, of Clover Val-
ley. so well know in local circles, were
well received. Mr. A. C.,,Q Patterson
also sang in his grand old- Scottish
style: Miss Mary Strathdee, of Clover
Valley, .gave a recitation "Scottish
Martyrs." 'Miss Strathdee is a.splen-
did reciter and received prolonged
Applause. A, good play was given by -
characters from Clover Valley, entitled,
a "A Pain in the ,Side.." Miss,
Annie McKay presided at the organ.
The usual congratulatory remarkir-,
were passed and a hearty vote
of thanks tendered to Mr. G. •
BeriSr, of Lucknow, for the loan A -ths.
splendid organ which added so mater-•
ially to the success of the meeting..
The. national- anthem was sung and
the meeting closed. Ali were. pleased
and satisfied they attended the concert.
