Berry left for Manitoba on Wednesday morning last, and in his departure ,Lucknow loses one of her oldest and most prominent citizens, Mr. Berry has been a resident of the village almost continuously for over a quarter of a century, and was uni- versally respected by all, both as a business man and citizen, During hi§ long residence in the village he always took an active interest in the welfare of the place, and for many years held a seat at both the Conned and School board. Few men has ever left thc village whose going away will be more generally regretted than that of Mr. Berry, but what is Liicknow's loss will be 3Ianitoba's gain. He was also a charter member of the Oddfellow's Lodge here, and on Monday evening last, about twenty five prominent members of the order visited his resid ence and presented him with a beau- tiful gold chain and locket, a heavy gold ring and a beautiful Society badge with silver penant, accompanied by the following addr ?,ss which was read by Noble Grand Dr. ordon.
