Accident •
While out driving Tuesday morning

Seriously Hurt
On Thursday of last week a young
man named Joseph Smeltzer*,`` son of
Mr. Paul Smeltzer, -of Ashfield, met
with a very painful accident.. • He was
engaged. in hauling out manure and
when returning from the field to the
barn yard he touched one of the horses
„;with the pitch Fork, when the animal
„•suddenly kicked, and striking its leg.

made in •the two and three year old
classes in .the speeding in the ring con-
tests at the fall show on the 7th and
bt•h of October. Instead of being con-
fined. to the four townships, as at first
,announced, these two classes are now
open to all parties living in the Coun-
ties. of . Huron and Bruce, who may
become members of the Agricultural

Walkerton postoffice has been let to
Tighe Bros., of Toronto, at $14,560.
--The Walkerton lacrosse club are
now the champions of the Saugeen
District and have captured the pen-
nant for 1890.
-The county treasurer's tax sale of
lands has been received at this office,
and a number of lots in Lueknow, are
among the list to be sold.
-The people of Walkerton are talk-
ing water -works, and will vote on a
by-law$25,000 o'n the 28th inst. it
should be carried by a big majority.
—"Broncho John" and his famous
Wild West Show will be at the
Northern exhibition at Goderich ,on
the 15th, 16th and 17th of this month.
They are good and should draw a big
crowd.
