Park committee ready to launch new fundraising campaign Committee will sell naming rights of various parts of the park to raise funds by May 1 Justine Alkema Clinton News Record The Clinton Community Park committee has a goal for the construction of a splash pad, skate park, pavilion and playground equipment at Clinton Community Park. They need to raise at least $130,000 byMay 1, 2017. Ideally, they would like to raise $160,000, so the skate park can be built to the scale they would like it to be. How- ever if they cannot reach that amount, they will build a skate park to the size of a $150,000 pad instead of a $180,000 pad. The group already has $200,000 in private dona- tions which includes $150,000 from the racetrack. They have also been granted $60,000 from council. Their remaining costs are $130,000 - $160,000, and they want to raise that money this winter so construction can happen next year. To reach this goal, they have come up with a fundraising idea to sell naming rights for various aspects of the park and equipment at a variety of costs according to the item. The most costly sponsor- ship option is to name the park as a whole which is $100,000. There also are options to sponsor the skate park pad and the landscap- ing/pavilion. There will be a sponsor wall in the park with a list of spon- sors. The cost to be on this wall is $5000. Other items are less costly, for example a picnic table can be named for $2500, a park bench for $2000 and an engraved brick for $150/brick In-kind donations are also accepted. The committee is planning on approaching businesses and service groups with the fundraising package contain- ing more detailed descrip- tions of the sponsorship options.
