HomeMy WebLinkAboutClinton News Record, 2016-10-12, Page 2020 News Record • Wednesday, October 12, 2016 The Salvation Army Coat Drive and Christmas Assistance As the leaves begin to change and the weather begins to shift, The Salvation Army has started collecting coats for its Annual Coat Drive and has opened registration for Christmas food Hampers. Interested in supporting to the Coat Drive? Donors are encouraged to bring coat donations to The Huron County Public Libraries in Clin- ton and Goderich during their normal hours of operation. Find yourself in need of a coat? Coat distribution will occur on Monday, October 26 from l0am-3pm at Heartland Church in Clinton during Soup and More, and on Tuesday, October 27 from 4pm-7pm at Knox Presbyterian Church in Goderich during the Fishes and Loaves community meal. No pre -registration necessary. While it may be difficult to think about the Christmas Season, The Salvation Army encourages clients to know that registration for Christmas assistance will occur during the months of October and November to allow them to plan accordingly. Clients are encouraged to make appoint- ments with the Community and Family Services offices in Clinton and Goderich. Verifi- cation of income and address are required for Christmas Assistance registration. Are you a volunteer? As The Salvation Army gears up for its busiest time of the year, they have already started making contact with each of their vol- unteers. Individuals who volun- teer with The Salvation Army in any capacity and have not received a phone call and anyone interested in becoming a volunteer, are encouraged to call 519-482-8586.
