HomeMy WebLinkAboutClinton News Record, 2016-10-05, Page 88 News Record • Wednesday, October 5, 2016 OPP UPDATES JEEP COMPASS STOLEN (BLUEWATER, ON) - Huron County OPP officers are investigating the theft of a 2011 Jeep Compass that took place this past weekend in Hensall. Sometime ovemight on September 23 those responsible entered onto a Queen Street prop- erty. The thief located the unlocked Compass with the ignition key left in the vehicle. The thief simply started up the vehicle and drove away with the stolen truck. The suspect vehicle is described as a grey, 2011 Jeep Compass sports utility model. The value of the stolen vehicle has yet to be established. Any person with information regarding this incident should immediately contact Huron OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 524- 8314. SCHOOL BUS REAR-ENDED (MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) — Huron County OPP officers inves- tigated collision that took place on September 29 involving a Pontiac Torrent and a school bus. At 8:22 a.m. Huron OPP offic- ers responded to the crash scene located on Brussels Line just north of Amberley Road. Investigators have since determined a Pontiac Torrent was travelling southbound on Brussels Line when it collided with the rear end of a stopped school bus. The bus had just come to a stop and it was struck prior to the wait- ing students loading onto the bus. Huron County Paramedic Services attended the scene along with the North Huron Fre Department. None of the 21 students on board or the involved drivers sustained injuries. A 17 -year-old male driver from Gorrie has been charged with Care- less Driving. The roadway is now open for travel.
