OPP UPDATES
EARLY MORNING
CRIME SPREE
HALTED IN BLYTH
(NORTH HURON, ON) — A
25 -year-old from Blyth
remains in custody following
his arrest on November 22
in the Town of Blyth. Shortly
after 6:40 a.m. Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) officers responded to
a suspicious person call on
Dinsley Street in Blyth.
Officers were informed
the male suspect had just
entered into a homeown-
er's garage when he was
confronted by the home-
owner. The startled male
immediately took off running
from the property. A little
while later the suspect was
observed by another citizen
operating a child's All -Ter-
rain Vehicle (ATV). The wit-
ness watched as the suspect
parked the Arctic Cat ATV
in a driveway on Mill Street
then he began walking up the
street. Upon speaking with
the owner of the ATV officer's
learned it had been stolen.
Minutes later officers were
able to locate the suspect
whereupon he was taken
into custody for Possession
of Stolen Property. While the
male was in custody officers
received additional reports of
thefts and break and enters
that had taken place earlier
that morning in Blyth. Offic-
ers were able to connect
the male to these offences
and several pieces of stolen
property were subsequently
recovered. As a result of

the police investigation, a 25
year old from Blyth has been
charged with the following
offences:
• Break, Enter a Dwelling
House (3 counts)
• Possession of Property
Obtained by Crime - Under
$5,000 (7 counts)
• Fail to Comply with Proba-
tion Order (6 counts)
He remains in custody with
a bail hearing scheduled for
November 24, 2016 at the
Ontario Court of Justice —
Goderich.

BREAK, ENTER
& THEFT
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-
WAWANOSH, ON) — Huron
County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) officers includ-
ing members from the Huron
OPP Property Crimes Unit are
investigating a recent break,
enter and theft occurrence
that took place in Ashfield-
Colborne-Wawanosh.
Sometime between 8:00 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m. on November
17, 2016 someone forced
entry into the residence
located on Amberley Road
east of Lucknow through a
rear sliding door.

Once inside the residence
the thief stole various items
from the residence includ-
ing a Toshiba laptop that was
stored in a black carry bag,
two watches, three pair of
sunglasses and a box of .177
calibre pellets for an airsoft
rifle.
In total the value of the sto-
len items is estimated to be
around $1,000.

forced entry into a new home
under construction located on
Peace Lane in Clinton. Once
inside the semi-detached
home the intruder cut out and
damaged multiple sections of
wiring inside the newly wired
home.
In total, the vandal caused
approximately $4,500 in dam-
ages to the unfinished resi-
dence.

TEEN FOUND IN
POSSESSION OF
STOLEN PICKUP
(HURON EAST & CENTRAL
HURON, ON) — An 18 -year-
old from Palmerston has
been charged with Posses-
sion of Stolen Property fol-
lowing her arrest that took
place on November 16. At
approximately 7:15 a.m. on
November 16, 2016 Huron
County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) officers received
notification that a 2015 Ford
F-350 pickup truck had just
been stolen from a parking lot
in Seaforth. Police learned
the driver left his unattended
truck running in the parking
lot while he entered into a

restaurant located on Goder-
ich Street East. Unbeknownst
to the thief, the pickup truck
was equipped with a GPS
tracking system.
Officers quickly assembled
and began to patrol for the
mobile truck. Approximately
a half-hour later officers first
observed the stolen truck trav-
elling westbound on Kinburn
Line. Officers strategically got
into position and were prepar-
ing to stop the vehicle when
they received an update indi-
cating the truck was now sta-
tionary at the intersection of
Burns Line and Summerhill
Road. An OPP officer was able
to locate the now abandoned
vehicle parked off the road-
way in a plowed field. Addi-
tional officers began patrol-
ling the immediate area and a
female pedestrian was located
in close proximity to the stolen
truck.
Through the assistance of a
police canine track and other
investigative efforts offic-
ers were able to connect the
female to the stolen truck. As
a result she was placed under
arrest for Possession of Stolen
Property. Following her arrest
the female suspect provided a
false name to the investigating
officers. Officers were able to
unravel her lies and were able
to positively identify her.
As a result, an 18 -year-old
from Palmerston has been
charged with Possession of
Stolen Property Over $5,000,
Obstruct Police and Fail to
Comply with Sentence. She
has since been released with
custody with a court appear-
ance scheduled for December
5, 2016 at the Ontario Court of
Justice — Goderich.
RECOVER
STOLEN PICKUP —
FOUR ARRESTED
(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) —
Huron County Ontario Provin-
cial Police (OPP) has charged
four Huron County residents
with a number of criminal
offences following their arrests
that took place this weekend.
On Sunday, November 20, 2016
at approximately 12:30 p.m.
a Huron OPP officer spotted a
stolen Ford F-250 pickup truck
backing out of a conservation
area located near Turnberry-
Culross Road. As the officer
pulled in to initiate a traffic
stop the driver accelerated for-
ward and tried to escape how-
ever the truck quickly became
stuck in the mud. Once they
realized they were stuck, the
four occupants took off running
into the wooded area.
Officers from the Huron OPP
and South Bruce OPP Detach-
ments were able to contain
the area until a canine unit
arrived on scene. A short while
later officers watched as a car
showed up to pick up the four
suspects. At that point offic-
ers intervened and were able
to take the four wet and muddy
suspects into custody. A sub-
sequent search of the stolen
vehicle revealed two unauthor-
ized .22 calibre rifles inside the
truck. Additionally, two of the
suspects were found to be in
possession of illegal drugs.
A 20 year-old from North
Huron, 23 -year-old from Wing -
ham, 17 -year-old from Central
Huron and 15 year-old from
Seaforth face various charges.
