NWMO Learn More Centre
The Municipality of Central Huron is one of nine communities
involved in a process of learning about Adaptive Phased
Management (APM), Canada's plan for the safe, long-term
management of used nuclear fuel. The Nuclear Waste
Management Organization is working collaboratively with the
community to advance preliminary assessment studies.
Learn about APM, meet NWMO staff, ask questions and
offer your thoughts. Drop in to the NWMO community office
and Learn More Centre in Clinton.

He said his organization
sees tourism as a vehicle to
promote local food.
"And to do that we need to
convince people from out of
town to come, see it, fall in
love and then come back,"
he said.
The event, Swarts said,
was born from a trip through
the centrepiece of the event,
the museum.
"The event was the brain-
child of my wife and I. We'd
been walking through the
Huron County Museum and
we saw the train" in the cen-
tre of the building and
thought it look like the Hog -
warts Express and thought
why not do a Harry Potter
festival there, he said.
"Then we looked at each
other and said, what if we
did do a festival in here," he
said.
And then the event was
born, with all proceeds going
to museum and to the Huron
Food Action Network, which
addresses concerns with the
public gaining access to

He wasn't that big of a
Harry Potter fan, said the
man dressed as Sirius Black,
but since working on this
festival for the last few
months, he has become a
devotee.
"It turned me into a real
Potter nut," he said. "Which
is funny. I never saw it
coming."
A total 60 volunteers helped out on the day of the event, many of
them dressing for the occasion.
Correction
In last week's Clinton News Record in the article "United
Church play has crowd laughing for hours", it said that
Director Garnet Colborne was "hired" by the churches
involved. However everyone, including Colborne, were
volunteers to support the cause of the Canadian Foodgrains
Bank. We regret the error and are sorry for any confusion it
may have caused.
