Thanks to the OLG and the Municipality
of Central Huron, several local businesses
were able to improve the exterior of their
businesses this year through the municipal-
ity's Facade Improvement Grants.

municipality received $640,663 from reve-
nues generated by the OLG slots at Clinton
Raceway.
These contributions from OLG are
placed in the municipality's general reve-
nue accounts and are invested into capital
projects, donations funds and facade
improvement grants throughout the
community.
On Central Huron's website, the Facade
Improvement Grant is described as "a
municipal assistance program [that] pro-
vides grants to property owners who
improve and enhance the 'cosmetic' appeal
of the structure from a streetscape view-
point. The grant amount is 50% of the cost
to improve the appearance of the facade up
to a maximum of $5,000.00"
This grant applies to all properties in
Central Huron designated as "commercial"
in the Central Huron Official Plan.
