This position will report directly to the Manager of Public Works and will oversee the day-to-day work activities of the roads employees. The incumbent will administer and participate in a variety of construction, maintenance and repair services to the roads, municipal drains, landfill sites, and other municipal infrastructure. The operation of equipment and machinery will be also be necessary on a required basis. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: • Secondary school graduate and five (5) years' experience in construction or municipal road works, including supervisory or lead hand experience. • Has or is working towards Certified Road Supervisor designation. • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of heavy and medium equipment, vehicles and machinery used in operations and maintenance functions. • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Confined Space Entry. • Good communication and public relations skills in order to deal tactfully with the public. • Must hold a minimum DZ driver's license.
