St. Anne's CSS Concert
Band receives Gold at
MusicFest Regionals
Josh Geddis
Music Teacher &
Band Director, St. Anne's
Catholic Secondary School
The St. Anne's Concert
Band, which is made up of
66 members competed at
Music Fest Regionals at
Westminster Secondary
School in London this week.
The band performed excep-
tionally well and received a
Gold standing along with
some very positive remarks
from their adjudicators. This
Gold standing earns the
band an invitation to com-
pete at the National music
festival within the next two
years.
The St. Anne's Jazz Band
also competed at the festi-
val and earned a Silver
standing. This group of 10
musicians performed three
challenging jazz pieces and
were awarded a silver
standing.
"We have an exceptional
group of young musicians
at St. Anne's that come out
of some amazingly musical
communities in Huron
County. It is a privilege to
watch their hard work and
dedication to music pay
off," stated Josh Geddis,
Music teacher at St. Anne's.
The music program at St.
Anne's continues their busy
spring season with several
small performances in
April. Their musical perfor-
mance season concludes
on Friday, May 13 with
their annual May Melodies
concert at 6:30 p.m. in the
gym. Admission is $5, chil-
dren under 12 are free.
