Eurohome Appliances & Kitchens pledges Nominations are now
$25,000 to the Wingham Hospital campaign open for the 2016

Appliances, have pledged to
donate $25,000 to the Wingham
& District Hospital Founda-
tion's "Our Hospital, Our
Future" campaign over the next
five years. On March 8, cam-
paign chair Mark Foxton and
campaign team leader Jenny
Hogervorst met the van Heesch
family at their new showroom
on Amb erley Road in Wingham
to accept the donation.
With the showroom located
in Morris-Turnberry and the
Euro -Parts warehouse in Bel -
grave located in North Huron,
Eurohome Kitchens & Appli-
ances is a neighbour to the
Wmgham & District Hospital
twice over. As such, owner
Henry van Heesch said, "It is
important to us to support the
ongoing success of the hospital
that serves our family, employ-
ees and clients:'
The van Heeschs were one of
the early donors to the cam-
paign. Campaign team leader
Jenny Hogervorst said she is
"grateful to have such a com-
munity-mindedbusiness make
its home in Wingham and lead
the way in this campaign:'
The "Our Hospital, Our
Future" campaign is striving to
raise $4 million for the major
redevelopment of the Wing -
ham & District Hospital. The
project will see the expansion of
six hospital departments
including the only chemother-
apy clinic in Huron and Bruce
Counties, the creation of new
rehabilitation space, the
replacement of digital imaging
equipment and the transforma-
tion of the former Wingham
Public School into a one -stop -
shop community healthcare

Notice to the Residents of the Municipality of Bluewater
Source Water Protection -
Harbour Lights and Carriage Lane Water Systems
The following resolution was passed at the January 20, 2014 Council
meeting:
"Whereas the subdivisions in Bayfield known as Harbour Lights and
Carriage Lane are currently serviced by municipally owned and
operated wells;
And Whereas the Municipality is in the final stage of extending
municipal water to all of Bayfield from the Lake Huron Primary
Water System;
And Whereas extension of said water system will eliminate the need
for the Municipal Water Wells in Harbour Lights and Carriage Lane
Subdivisions;
Therefore be it Resolved that the Council of the Municipality of
Bluewater is committed to discontinuing the use of the two (2)
municipal wells that serve the subdivisions known as Harbour Lights
and Carriage Lane in Bayfield within the next five (5) years;
And Further be it Resolved that the Municipal staff are hereby
directed to make an application under the Safe Drinking Water Act,
2002 for the revocation of any approval, municipal drinking water
licence or drinking water works permit that is applicable to the
drinking water systems served by the decommissioned wells once the
new drinking water system is established;
And Further be it Resolved that this resolution be forwarded to the
Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Source Water Protection
Committee and advertised in the local newspapers."

Do you know of a group or
an individual who has made
an outstanding contribution
to arts, culture or heritage in
Huron County during 2015?
It's once again time to recog-
nize them. The Huron Arts &
Heritage Network (HAHN),
in partnership with Cultural
Services of the County of
Huron, is accepting nomina-
tions for its seventh annual
Cultural Awards celebration.
The awards recognize the
exceptional achievements of
Huron County residents,
businesses, and organiza-
tions in the following catego-
ries: Cultural Event/Organi-
zation, Individual Artist,
Community Contribution,
Heritage, and Innovation.
Nomination submissions
require a nomination form
and a short description
(maximum of one page)
explaining what the nomi-
nee accomplished in 2015 as
it relates to the category they
are being nominated in and
why you think it is worthy of
recognition. Nomination
forms can be found at crea-
tivehuron.ca or at any Huron
County Library branch.
Deadline for submissions is
April 8, 2016.
Finalists and winners in
each category will be
selected by a jury from the
eligible nominations
received. In keeping with
previous years, winners in
each category will be pre-
sented with original work of
art by a local artist.
The Cultural Awards Gala
is Friday, May 6 at the White
Carnation Banquet Hall in
Holmesville. As well as rec-
ognizing the finalists and
winners, this special evening
also features entertainment
by a variety of local artists.
There is also a silent auction
of unique items at the
Awards Gala supporting the
activities of Huron Arts &
Heritage Network. The event
starts with a cocktail social at
7:30 p.m. followed by the
awards presentations at 8
p.m. Tickets are $20 each

offers workshops

Communities in Bloom
invites participants to their
April workshops that are to be
held at South Huron Recrea-
tion Centre, 94 Victoria Street
East in Exeter. Both work-
shops will feature Paul Ronan
and Griffin Mangroves as
presenters.
Creating a Great Outdoor
Space workshop will be held
Tuesday April 5, 7-9 p.m. Top-
ics will include edible gardens
and containers, outdoor space
design, compost manage-
ment, seed starting and sav-
ing, pollinators and drought
resistant plants. There will be
door prizes. Admission is $10
at door.
Landscaping and Floral
Workshop for Municipalities
and Businesses, will be held
Wednesday April 6, 9 a.m. - 3
p.m. Topics will include fertili-
zation, water efficiency, plant
selection, perennial and oma -
mental care, best practices for
pruning, ground cover care and
mulching. Cost is $100 which
includes lunch and snacks.
Both of these workshops
are co-sponsored by the
Municipality of South Huron
and South Huron Communi-
