Clinton will be full of excite-
ment on Thursday, September 8.
On this day at 7 p.m., the London
Knights and Erie Otters are set to
play an exhibition game at the
Central Huron Community
Complex.
Every year, the Knights play one
exhibition game outside of Lon-
don. This game is to reach out to
other communities in the greater
London area, get them involved
and enable them to experience
what a Knights game is like with-
out having to go to London.
The last couple years, the exhi-
bition game has been held in
Stratford. Blyth resident Brent
Scrimgeour was instrumental in
bringing the teams to Clinton.
Scrimgeour got to know some
of the Knights' management
though a friend who scouted for
the team. In 2011, Scrimgeour
managed to organize a practice
for the Knights in Blyth. This prac-
tice was extremely well attended.
"That practice went over really
well with our team," said the
Knights' Public Relations and
Communications Manager Ryan
Starr. "Everyone on our staff
knows Brent and we have nothing
but good things to say about him.
Lots of people came [to the prac-
tice], and Brent treated the team
really well."
Starr also said that Clinton made
sense because they have a lot of
support north of London and in the
Central Huron community They
want to show that they appreciate
that support by giving back.
Scrimgeour had been advocat-
ing for a game to happen in Clin-
ton for a while, and when he
heard they weren't going to have
their exhibition game in Stratford
this year, he put his name in the
hat once again.
Scrimgeour said he also chose
Clinton because the community
complex is big enough to fit such a
crowd. 1400 tickets will be for sale.
Although Scrimgeour is spear-
heading the event, the entire day
will be organized by Blyth Brus-
sels Minor Hockey.
To add to the special occasion,
there will be a Fanfare festival the
day of the game. They are hoping
to include a barbeque, auction,
blow-up mini -stick rink, shoot to
win games, 50-50 draw and more.
They are hoping to have hockey
manufacturing vendors there and
get the business community of
Clinton involved. After the game,
players will be giving autographs,
and the memorial cup will be
there as well.

cup because they won it last
month. Two of the Knights' play-
ers, 011i Juolevi and Matthew Tka-
chuk, were drafted to the NHL on
the weekend.
Tickets went on sale June 23
and are $15 each. Scrimgeour esti-
mated they will sell out within a
couple weeks. Most tickets will be
sold out of the Blyth Festival box
office, however tickets will also be
The Canadian Press/Jeff Mcintosh
available at Scrimgeour's Food
Market in Blyth and the London
Knights box office in London.
"I really wanted to do this event
because I want kids in this area
who might not be fortunate
enough to go see an OHL game to
have a game in their back yards
and get up close and personal
with these hockey players," said
Scrimeour.

In addition to three outstanding Kin Pace
eliminations this Sunday, Clinton Raceway fans
also witnessed a moment of history on Sunday
as driver Trevor Henry earned his 6,000'h career

asked about his chances to hit the 6,000 mark
going into Sunday's card, Henry simply stated,

Clinton and move on to 7,000!"
In addition to Andro Madi's trainer Andrew
McCabe of Guelph-Eramosa and owner Glenview
Livestock Ltd. of Wallenstein, Ont., Henry was
joined by family and friends in the winner's circle
celebrations.
