The Kincardine Lighthouse
Blues Festival has been recog-
nized as one of the top 16 music
festivals in Ontario and recog-
nized the sponsors that help
make it happen.
The Bruce Steakhouse is the
venue for the July 8-10, 2016
event overlooking Lake Huron,
and organizers welcomed local
business and organizations for
the Sponsor Appreciation Night
on June 2, 2016.
The non-profit event has
contributed over $45,000 in the
six years it has been operating,
with $30,000 donated to the
Kincardine Lions Club Splash
Pad project.
Organizer Rick Clarke said
with numerous Juno award
winning and nominated blues
musicians, as well as many
other award-winning artists,
Kincardine's event is recog-
nized as a'premier' destination
for people to travel to in early
summer.
"We've really developed a
strong reputation across the
province for our organization
and presentation of quality
blues artists in an intimate set-
ting," said Clarke. "People are
looking at it as a destination
holiday at the beginning of
summer. Over 50 per cent of the
fans are from out of town,
which really benefits
accommodators."
Upwards of 6,000 people are
expected to take in the events,
which features Friday and Sat-
urday night music at the Bruce
Steakhouse main stage, Satur-
day's four stages throughout the
closed down Queen Street core,
along with a motorcycle and
British vintage car show, Artist's
Row and various vendors and
businesses showcasing their
wares. Sunday's free Gospel
