Clinton News Record, 2016-06-15, Page 2424 News Record • Wednesday, June 15, 2016 Goderich Shuffleboard Club news Joan McCauley Special to the News Record The Shuffleboard Club is in full swing with another good turn out this week. We played one of our spe- cial games, which was with a bowling pin on the court. The pin was set at the upper end of the court and if you knocked it down 10 points was deducted from your score. There was the sound of a lot of pins drop- ping and a lot of laughs. Eve- ryone was trying very hard to score high points but not knock down the bowling pin. Always a fun game. Our next special day will be the first Tuesday of July when we will play Hoss Collar. We had six people who managed to win three games this week. They were Shirley Dance, Al Weeks, Charles Eckel, Leida Gerrits, Lyle Muir and Lloyd Hoy. Woodstock Shuffleboard Club held their Ontario Shuffleboard Tournament at the end of May and 12 mem- bers of our club competed in both the amateur and pro divisions. Competition must have been very tough as only Jim Howard got into the winning circle with a third in the con- solation on the pro side. The Goderich tournament is coming up on June 28 to 30 so if anyone is interested in competing please let the executive know and all are welcome to come and watch the games.
