Goderich Shuffleboard Club news
Joan McCauley
Special to the News Record
The Shuffleboard Club is
in full swing with another
good turn out this week.
We played one of our spe-
cial games, which was with a
bowling pin on the court. The
pin was set at the upper end of
the court and if you knocked it
down 10 points was deducted
from your score. There was
the sound of a lot of pins drop-
ping and a lot of laughs. Eve-
ryone was trying very hard to
score high points but not
knock down the bowling
pin. Always a fun game.
Our next special day will
be the first Tuesday of July
when we will play Hoss
Collar.
We had six people who
managed to win three games
this week. They were Shirley
Dance, Al Weeks, Charles
Eckel, Leida Gerrits, Lyle Muir
and Lloyd Hoy.
Woodstock Shuffleboard
Club held their Ontario
Shuffleboard Tournament at
the end of May and 12 mem-
bers of our club competed in
both the amateur and pro
divisions.
Competition must have
been very tough as only Jim
Howard got into the winning
circle with a third in the con-
solation on the pro side.
The Goderich tournament
is coming up on June 28 to
30 so if anyone is interested
in competing please let the
executive know and all are
welcome to come and watch
the games.

HOME PLA ►' OF THE WEEK
RELEASE DATE: June 11 - June 11, 2016
PLAN NUMBER 2-3-761
GREAT FOR A GROWING FAMILY
This two-storey family home features
a basement entry, with the living area
on the upper floor. On the ground floor
is space for a fourth bedroom, and a
kitchen area and three-piece bathroom
have been roughed in.
The covered entry leads into a foyer with
a coat cupboard directly ahead. To the left
is a study and to the right is the L-shaped
staircase that opens into the great room
on the main living floor.
The great room features a ceiling slightly
higher than that of the adjoining kitchen
and dining areas. The wood -burning
fireplace will make the great room
a magnet for family activities during
the cooler months, while a sundeck
overlooking the front garden will offer
plenty of space for outdoor living.
The kitchen has access to a covered
patio overlooking the back garden, ideal
for year-round grilling. The family's cooks
will appreciate the corner pantry and
prep island, as well as the L-shaped
counter configuration.
The dining area includes an optional
bayed -out buffet, always useful for
storage and serving.
The master suite, located at the front
of the home, features an ensuite with
double sinks and an oval soaker tub.
The walk-in closet will be roomy enough
for the most fashion -conscious couple's
clothing and accessories.
The second and third bedrooms, both
overlooking the back garden, share a
three-piece bath.
Natural light will flood through a skylight
placed in the corridor adjacent to the
master bedroom, near the linen cupboard.
On the ground floor, the double garage
is spacious enough to contain room for
storage. The unfinished basement, if not
used for a secondary suite, offers space
for a media room, a studio or a guest
room.
Exterior finishes include stucco,
enhanced by brick pilasters at the
entrance. Wooden slats form a decorative
area on the fagade. Trim is painted a
contrasting colour.
This home measures 47 feet wide by
46 feet, eight inches deep, for a total of
1,470 square feet.
