Clinton News Record, 2016-06-15, Page 17Wednesday, June 15, 2016 • News Record 17 • OPP UPDATES Two drug search warrants result in two major seizures for OPP CENTRAL HURON, ON - On Friday, June 3, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau - Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Huron County OPP along with the assistance of Strat- ford Police Service, executed a Controlled Drugs and Sub- stances Act search warrant at a residence located on Stan- ley Street, in the Municipal- ity of Central Huron, Huron County, Ontario. As a result of the execution of the search warrant, Police seized cannabis marihuana, and cannabis resin. The esti- mated, combined street value of the seized controlled sub- stances is $70,000. Police also seized offence related prop- erty that consisted of drug trafficking paraphernalia and a prohibited weapon. Police arrested and have charged Kenneth McPhee, 61 years of age from Central Huron with Trafficking Mari- huana, Possession of Mari- huana & Cannabis Resin for the Purposes of Trafficking and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 20, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. CENTRAL HURON, ON - On Tuesday, June 7, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau - Drug Enforcement Unit, Huron OPP Property Crimes Unit, West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Huron OPP, executed a Con- trolled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a resi- dence located on Orchard Line, in the Municipality of Central Huron, Huron County, Ontario. As a result of the execution of the search warrant, Police seized cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin, cocaine, oxy- codone tablets and psilocy- bin. The estimated, combined street value of the seized con- trolled substances is $222,000. Police also seized offence related property that con- sisted of cannabis marihuana growing equipment and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Police have arrested and charged 45 -year-old Brian Wiebe and 19 -year-old Wesley Wiebe both from the Munici- pality of Central Huron with Production of Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana, Cannabis Resin and Oxyco- done for the Purposes of Traf- ficking and Possession of Cocaine & Psilocybin. Both accused have since been released from custody. Brian Wiebe has a court appearance scheduled for June 20, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich and Wesley Wiebe has an appearance scheduled for July 8, 2016.
