The CNR School on
Wheels Museum in Clinton
was a popular place to be
last week. They held two
events both to promote the
museum and just to have
fun.
The first event which was
held on June 10 was called
Amazing Aquatic Critters.
For this event, the museum
partnered with the Ausable
Bayfield Conservation
Authority. The sun was shin-
ing and around 77 people
came out to see all the crea-
tures that Denise Iszczuk,
who works at the authority,
brought out.
"I was so impressed with
Denise's teaching style,"
said museum staff Carolyn
Brophy. "She brought so
much equipment; it
couldn't have been more
hands on."
Those present were able
to see and/or touch various
fish, frogs and other critters.
Iszczuk also brought a
stuffed beaver and lots of
pelts and turtle shells. She
read them a story and they
played games.
The next event was on
June 11 and was a Pet Expo.
Thankfully the weather held
out and many dogs and their
owners came to enjoy the
festivities. This event
included a costume contest
and a tricks contest.
The dogs had a blast play-
ing bobbing for wieners,
musical chairs with their
owners, racing and using the
agility course.
The Huron County OSPCA
and P.E.T.S. Training and
Boarding Centre assisted
with the event.
All the while the events
were going on, people could
wander into the museum.
Tours of the museum were
being held by staff member
Donna Hardie.
