Inkster is back in brand new Canadian Legends at Huron County Play House Lynda Hillman-Rapley Postmedia Network RCMP Constable Archibald F. Inkster is back. In a brand new take on life and music in Canada, Canadian Legends at the Huron Country Playhouse will sell out fast. This will be the eighth time Neil Aitchison entertains as his charming alter ego Inkster as Canadian Legends plays eight shows a week, June 30 through July 16. This show will feature a win- ning combination of side-split- ting humour, razor-sharp political satire, lively dancing, and above all, memorable musical selections that cele- brate all things uniquely Canadian. Donald Trump, Prime Min- ister Justin Tredeau and of course, Inksters dimwitted newpher Clifford F. Inster will be back. Put this all together and the show will keep the audience laughing, toe tapping and singing along. Providing a welcome come- dic interlude is Aitchison's Mountie whose hilarious mus- ings on current events leaves no political party, pop star, or public figure unscathed. The production snaps, crackles, and pops with an acerbic wit that will surely resonate with audi- ences of all ages. Aitchison says this show is a giant map of Canada where every town has ajoke. "My great friend Dave Broadfoot helps with the jokes," he says, "He is 90 years old and has a mind like a trap." Broadfoot, humorist, writer, performer, producer and director is an internationally known comedian who has probably provoked more laughter from Canadians than any performing artist in Eng- lish Canada This production sells out fast, and Aitchison says that's a good thing because all the profits go to their bottom line since it is a homegrown show. No royalties means more dol- lars for the theatre. "This brand new show is 'homey and comfortable and great fun;' says Aitchison. Canadian Legends follows in the same vein of the award- winning theatre organization's popular series of Legends trib- ute shows (Twist and Shout, Legends of Rock 'n' Roll, Country Legends), by paying tribute to some of our country's most iconic singers and musi- cal pioneers - Anne Murray, Paul Anka, The Guess Who, Leonard Cohen, Gordon Light- foot, Shania Twain, Michael Buble, and Celine Dion. "Canada has been blessed with a rich musical tapestry that has spanned the decades in terms of scope and world- wide influence," says Musta- kas. "This production cele- brates those songwriters who forged a new musical direc- tion in the early days and those Canadian sensations who dominate charts around the world today." Over 100 songs from a vari- ety of genres, such as country, rock, acoustic pop, folk, and rockabilly, are celebrated in this lightning -paced, high- octane production that proudly waves a maple leaf in honour of the true north, strong and free. The talented cast will wow theatregoers with their versa- tility as they bring these musi- cal numbers to life through powerhouse vocals, heartfelt interpretations, and respectful homages. clintonnewsrecord.com BUSINESS DIRECTORY To advertises )6MEHIREE llrEMCCUOTEW Please call Dcz:ohnotor fig—M2=236.623 011 AM _..._,. tltC-pEBYIF Le,y, larks - Total Tree Removal / Fully Insured / Bucket Truck / Brush Chipping Services / Stump Grinding Free Estimates!
