Cathie Simpson Corporate Secretary/ President/ CEO McDonagh Insurance Brokers and Staff Donate the 1 Millionth Dollar to "Our Hospital, Our Future" Campaign Special to the Clinton News Record The Wingham & District Hospital Foundation's "Our Hospital, Our Future" fundrais- ing campaign has surpassed the $1 million mark in its quest to raise $4 million towards the major redevelopment of the Hospital. This major milestone was achieved in part due to the generosity of McDonagh Insur- ance Brokers who donated the one millionth dollar. Prior to Christmas, Wayne and Conor McDonagh, owners of McDonagh Insurance Bro- kers Ltd., heard from campaign team leader Jenny Hogervorst that the campaign was within striking distance of the one mil- lion dollar mark. Without hesi- tation they wrote a cheque for the first instalment of their five year pledge to donate $25,000 SATISFY YOUR URIOSITY BY READING YOUR COMMUNITY NEWSP,'Ei on behalf of McDonagh Insur- ance Brokers and their staff. That cheque included the memorable one millionth dollar. McDonagh Insurance Bro- kers has offices in Wingham, Lucknow and Teeswater. The McDonaghs say their $25,000 pledge was made in recogni- tion of the fact that the Hospital is important in the lives of all their employees and clients regardless of which town they live or work in. The Board of the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation and the Our Hospital, Our Future campaign team are grateful to all the generous donors who have already com- mitted their pledges and set the campaign on the path towards success. To date, the Our Hospi- tal, Our Future campaign has raised $1.3 million of the $4 mil- lion goal. All the funds raised will go towards the expansion of the only chemotherapy clinic in Huron and Bruce Counties, the pharmacy, outpatient clinic, operating suite, team nursing station, sterilization depart- ment, upgrading digital imag- ing equipment, creation of new rehabilitation space, accessible showers, the new front entrance and the creation of a new larger primary care clinic. The clinic will be located in the new Health and Wellness Campus which is being cre- ated in the former Wingham Public School. The Health Campus will alleviate the space deficit caused by department expansions in the Hospital and unite primary care providers in a one -stop - shop location focussed on meeting the needs of an aging population.
