Huron Christian School students help family after fire
Jennifer Branderhorst
Office Administrator,
Huron Christian School
What do you do when some-
one experiences a loss beyond
what you can imagine? That's
what the students at Huron
Christian School were faced
with when they heard the news
that an alumnus of HCS, Anna
VanDorp - Laxton and her fam-
ily, lost everything they owned
in a house fire.
Instead of being paralyzed by
the size of the problem, they
decided to do something - raise
$500 to buy a new crib for the
baby that is due in a few days.
That was something they could
relate to. But they went beyond
that goal, way beyond!
When all the donations were
tallied at a special assembly on
Fridaymoming, they were able
to present Anna and her 2
daughters, Natalie and Allison,
with a cheque for $1072.90!
As a student body we thanked
God for the blessings He has
provided us, so that we can, in
tum, be a blessing to others.
