The Radars were missing a fewkeyplayers, but still man- aged to manufacture the win. Goaltender Layne Lavis played a really strong game between the pipes for Clinton as he won his first game as a Radar after being obtained from Seaforth in a trade in early December. He made 23 saves in the net while the Radars fired 30 shots at the Petrolia goalie. Joey's Corner Joe Livermore Petrolia took 1-0 lead in the first stanza as Dan Veen- ema beat Lavis from close in at 16:34. Petrolia was serving a penalty when leading scorer Kurtis Bartliff scored his 31st goal of the season to make the final score 4-2. Deryk Whitehead and Ryan Murphy helped set up the marker. It was a costly win for the Radars as hard-working for- ward Brenden Dale suffered a lower body injury. It turned into a penalty -filled game as Petrolia had 28 minutes in penalties and the Radars had 20 minutes. Clinton travelled to Sea - forth on Saturday, January 30 to take on the Centennaires in their final game of the schedule. In Seaforth on Saturday, Jan- uary 30 the Seaforth Centen- naires handed the Clinton Radars their second loss of the season as far as regulation time goes by edging the Radars 8-7. The Radars finish the regular season in first place while the Centennaires finish fourth in the standings. That means Clinton will play Seaforth in the first round of the playoffs with the first two games in the best of seven series beginning this Friday and Saturday nights, February 5 - 6 at 8:30 p.m. in Clinton. In the other semi-final series, Tavistock Royals will host the Petrolia Squires.
