Clinton News Record
AMDSB and Fanshawe College held
another successful and inspiring
Sculpting and Painting Art Exhibit at
the REACH Centre in Clinton on Tues-
day, January 12.
The exhibit was the culmination of
the Duel Credit course from the Fan-
shawe Arts Program. The course con-
sisted of 15 weekly classes at the
REACH facility. Over 20 students from
several different secondary schools
throughout the AMDSB and HPCDSB
who are in grades 11 and 12 took part in
the Duel Credit First Nations Sculpting
and Painting art program.
"We put an emphasis on encouraging
the students to think outside the box
when it comes to their creative ideas,"
states Tory Eckstein Dual Credit
Teacher for Avon Maitland District
School Board. "If they see a technique
that works for them they should explore
it, and not limit themselves to only one
style. To keep an open mind."
In commenting on the outcome of
the exhibit Eckstein states, "Our stu-
dents were very successful with the sale
of their original art pieces that day."
AMDSB has graciously submitted
photos of some of the items on exhibit
from their students, which is just a
small sampling of the art produced in
the class.
For information on the Duel Credit
courses, visit the AMDSB website or
speak with the guidance or student suc-
cess counselor at your home school.
