Friday, November 25 was a celebration of the 11th annual lighting of the lights
by the Clinton Public Hospital Auxiliary. Over the past several weeks, Auxiliary
volunteers and friends have been selling tickets so lights can be lit on a tree in
the clinic waiting room as a memory to or as a gift for someone special in their
life. This year there were over 330 lights able to be lit on the tree. Pictured here,
Elizabeth Thorpe -Hearn and Jeff Hearn sing carols at the event.

This is the 24th year that Hill
Street will decorate their road
for Santa's landing in Clinton.
And from 7-8, at the end of the
street will sit Mr. and Mrs. Claus
themselves.
Everyyear on Christmas Eve,
all the neighbours on the street
pitch in to assemble around 350
lights on sand bags lined down
the road meant to be a runway
for Santa. The neighbors also
meet for a get together in the
garage of Bill and Susan
Meyers.
"It has always been a really
close neighbourhood," said
Susan.
The festivities are set up usu-
ally around 6:30 or 7. The
Clauses will be there for around
one hour, and after that, they
have work to do, delivering toys
to all the kids in Clinton. The
street usually sees around 100
visitors walking and 200 cars go
by.
For some, visiting the street is
a tradition that has been passed
down for generations; people
who use to go as kids now bring
their kids to experience the
unique display and see Santa.
