Varna resident Jim Presz-
cator had a very special tra-
dition for his grandchildren.
When each of them was
born, he would write them a
song on his guitar.
"We're a very close fam-
ily," said his daughter, Deb
Cooper. "All the grandkids
are very close to my
parents."
After Jim passed away two
years ago, his wife, Janice,
decided to frame each of the
songs, of which there are
eight in total for their eight
grandkids. She is planning
on giving each of her grand-
children their framed song
for Christmas.
Janice wanted to photo-
copy the original songs for

husband's handwriting on
them, so she went to Max
Print and Copy in Clinton to
do so.
Janice explained to those
working at the store why she
was photocopying the songs,
and she said those helping her
were extremely empathetic.
Her daughter, Deb Cooper,
told the News Record, "They

all had tears in their eyes
when my mom was telling
them he wrote the songs.
And they don't know us from
a hole in the ground:'
After half an hour of work-
ing on the photocopies to get
them looking just right for
Janice, when Janice went to
pay, the gentleman working
refused to take her money.
He wanted to offer her the
copies for free.
"When my mom went to
pay, they said, 'No, you are
not paying for this at all,"'
said Cooper.

Janice was deeply touched
by the gesture. She told her
daughter, and Cooper went
into the store a few days later
to thank them. When she
brought it up to them, they
were getting emotional again
even then.
"It's just a little part of
somebody's life that we can
have a hand in knowing it
makes a difference," said the
man working at the store.
"This will mean the world
to all those kids to get those
framed songs for Christmas,"
said Cooper.
