It will work in collabora- tion with service providers who own and operate the network. Watt said the project was a long way from "shovels hitting the ground," but that next year as a starting point was doable. Huron County Warden Paul Gowing said the county has done the right thing by maintain its membership in SWIFT. He said he believes that the local Internet providers have been listened to, and that the county needed to pay the $30,000 member- ship fee it owes to SWIFT. "The two levels of gov- ernment above us are throwing in equal shares to move forward with SWIFT and we certainly need to be involved. It will bring dollars to fix the issue of level of service of Internet across the county," Gowing said. "I'm certainly more comfortable with the level of collaboration from the SWIFT group and the local providers in Huron County." And since the plans include an unfinished basement, there will be lots of room for expansion. Beyond the covered porch, always a boon in bad weather is the foyer, with a coat closet ahead and to the right. Directly ahead is the great -room, with a gas fireplace to ensure cosy evenings during the cooler months. Generous windows overlook a covered deck.
