The last tragically Hip concert to be live -
screened during the Goderich Salt Festival

It will be the end of an era for
Canadian music when The Tragi-
cally Hip play the band's final
concert of the summer tour on
Aug. 20.
The iconic rock band will be
returning to its hometown of
Kingston to play the last show of
the Man Machine Poem tour.
At the end of May the band
announced that frontman,
Gord Downie, had been diag-
nosed with terminal brain
cancer. Despite the devastat-
ing news, the band decided to
continue with a 15 -date tour
this summer.
Goderich will be able to witness
history as The Hip take the stage
as there will be a live -screening of
the concert at Courthouse Park.
"We're going to do it on the per-
formance stage on the Square,"
said Matt Hoy, co-organizer. "It's
going to be fun
The Goderich Salt Festival, in
conjunction with Hurontel will
produced the evening.
The live -screening is free
admission, with donations being
accepted that will go to a cause
designated by The Tragically Hip.
The live -screening will take
place on Aug. 20 at 8:30 p.m. at the
Courthouse Park performance
stage.
Open air fire ban lifted for Huron County
With the recent rainfall received
over the weekend and the Cana-
dian Wildland Fire Information Fire
Danger Rating at low, the Huron
County fire chiefs have lifted the
open air fire ban.
As per the 2015 Ontario Fire
Code, Section 2.4.4.4. (1) Open air
burning shall not take place unless;
(a) It has been approved, or
(b) The open air burning consists
of a small, confined fire that is
(i) Used to cook food on a grill,
barbecue or spit,
(ii) Commensurate with the type
and quantity of food being cooked,
and
(iii) Supervised at all time.

Burns.
