2016 Huron County Cultural Awards Nominees Announced
Huron Arts & Heritage
Network (HAHN), in part-
nership with Cultural Ser-
vices of the County of
Huron, is hosting its sev-
enth annual Cultural
Awards Gala to celebrate
the best in arts, culture and
heritage in the county.
Tickets are now available
for this event happening on
May 6 at the White Carna-
tion in Holmesville.

nominees are Lyndon John
from Brussels, Michele
Miller from Port Albert and
Gerry Smith from Exeter.
The third category is for
community contribution,
and the nominees are
Goderich Makers Market,
Keith Roulston from Blyth
and The Goderich Inuksuit
Installation.
The fourth category is for
heritage individual or organ-
ization, and the nominees
are Peter and Janis Bisback
from Hensall, Phil Gemein-
hardt from Bayfield, and
Bayfield Historical Society
and Archives.
The fifth category is for
innovation, and the nomi-
nees are Jenni Boles with
Exeter Library and FauxPop
Media from Goderich.
As well as recognizing the
finalists and winners, this spe-
cial evening will also feature
entertainment by a variety of
Huron County artists includ-
ing Juno -nominated musician
Lyndon John X, Huron Harp
School, Singer/Songwriter
Charlie Weber, National
Champion Fiddler Gerry
Smith, and Blyth Festival
Artistic Director Gil Garratt
performing a scene from The
Last Donnelly Standing. There
will also be a silent auction of
unique items at the Awards
Gala to support the activities
of Huron Arts & Heritage
Network.
The event starts at 7:30 p.m.
Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres
and desserts will be served,
and a cash bar will be availa-
ble. Tickets are $20 each and
