POLICE BRIEFS
ENCLOSED
TRAILER STOLEN
(CENTRAL HURON, ON) —
Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) officers
are investigating the theft
of a custom enclosed stor-
age trailer that was taken last
week. The owner of the trailer
reported the trailer was sto-
len from his farm property
located on Fish and Game
Line on April 6 between 5:30
p.m. and 10 p.m.
The trailer is described as a
red, enclosed 4 foot by 6 foot
"Action Trailer" with a two
inch ball valued at $2,500.
In addition, the trailer con-
tained over $5,000 in black-
smith tools, 3 Dewalt drills
and some welding torches.

regarding this incident should

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance Holding Community Forums to
Help Guide Strategic Planning
The Board of Directors of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is
pleased to announce that the HPHA will be hosting a series of
community forums for residents to provide input into the organization's
strategic planning process.
"It is important that our strategic planning process is open and inclusive,"
stated Mary Atkinson, Chair of the Board of Directors. "We are seeking
input from our community members to help create a shared vision on
how we will continue to provide high quality care while improving the
experience of our patients, their families and our healthcare team."
The new strategic plan will provide a roadmap for HPHA's four hospital
sites through the year 2020 and include strategies to build upon a
number of significant changes that are occurring at the healthcare
system level.
Any resident with an interest in the future growth and development of the
HPHA is welcome to attend.

POLICE CATCH
TWO COPPER
WIRE THIEVES
(HURON EAST, ON) - Two
Huron County locals have
been charged in connec-
tion to a recent break, enter
and theft of copper wire
from a Hydro One high-volt-
age substation. At approxi-
mately 2:30 a.m. on March
12, 2016 Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) officers responded to
the substation located on
Hensall Road, east of Sea -
forth after being alerted to
an intrusion on the property
by security personnel.
Several officers, includ-
ing a canine unit, were in
the immediate area from
a previous call thus they
were able to quickly con-
verge upon the scene. Upon
arrival at the substa-
tion officers noticed the
perimeter fence had been
breached and property at
the site had been exten-
sively damaged. A canine
track was activated which
resulted in police locat-
ing one of the suspects in
a nearby bush lot. Police
also located a backpack
that contained stolen cop-
per wire. The other suspect
managed to elude police
however it wasn't long
before police caught up with
him.
Through investigative efforts
police were able to iden-
tify the second male sus-
pect as Justin FIELD. A
warrant for his arrest was
issued and on Wednesday,
April 6, 2016 he was spot-
ted by police on Main Street
in Seaforth. He was arrested
without incident and taken
into custody. Upon searching
the male, officers located a
small quantity of marihuana
on his person.
As a result, Huron OPP has
charged 25 -year-old Justin
FIELD from Central Huron. His
charges are Break, Enter and
Theft, Possession of Prop-
erty Obtained by Crime Under
$5,000, Possession of Break-
in Instruments, Mischief and
Possession of a Schedule II
Substance (Cannabis Mari-
huana). He remains in cus-
tody with a court appearance
scheduled for April 11, 2016
at the Ontario Court of Justice
- Goderich.
Also charged is 48 -year-
old Mark MERO from Sea -
forth with: Break, Enter and
Theft, Possession of Prop-
erty Obtained by Crime
Under $5,000, Possession
of Break-in Instruments, and
Mischief. He was released
from custody with a court
date scheduled for April 18,
2016 at the Ontario Court of
Justice — Goderich.
