Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Goven-
lock of Waterford spent the
weekend with Mrs. Mae Dor-
rance and Jack Dorrance.
Miss Mabel Turnbull and Miss
Marilyn Hillis are leaving by
plane for California, where they
will spend the holiday season.
Mr. Jack Dorsey of Chicago
is the guest of his mother, Mrs.
John Dorsey.
Mrs. W. A. Campbell, Guelph,
will spend Christmas Day with
Mr. and Mrs. George S. Love in
McKillop, and Boxing Day with
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Bennett in
Clinton .and Mrs. R. K. McFar-
lane, Seaforth.
Sgt. Harry Earle and Mrs.
Earle and family are visiting
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Earle. Sgt. Earle and family
have recently returned from
the RCAF in France, where he
was stationed for nearly four
years.
Mrs. Mary Kunz and family
of Chicago are guests of her
mother, Mrs. John Dorsey.
Mrs. J. McKenzie has return-
ed home after spending several
weeks with her sister and at-
tending the funeral of her
brother-in-law, Herbert C. Bean,
held in Plattsville. Mr. Bean,
43 native of Haysville, died No-
vember 19. Residents of Sas-
katchewan for 35 years, Mr.
and Mrs. Bean have lived in
Lindsay since 1946.
SANTA CLAUS PAYS VISIT
WHEN O.E.S. HOLDS XMAS PARTY
Seaforth Chapter Order of
the Eastern Star held their
Christmas party for members
and their families in the IOOF
Hall Thursday. The evening be-
gan with a potluck supper, fol-
lowed by singing Christmas car-
ols.
About 9 o'clock Santa Claus
arrived and distributed gifts to
everyone from a beautifully
decorated tree. An extra gift
of a bag of candy and fruit was
given to all the children. After
Santa left, Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Connell, Clinton, showed color-
ed slides taken on their recent
trip to the west coast, up
through the Peace River coun-
try and back through the States.
The winners of the recent
OES euchre were: ladies, high,
'Mrs. Julia Flannigan; lone
hands, Mrs. Mary Upshall; con-
solation, Miss Janette Wilson;

The convener of the turkey
draw reports that at the Legion
bingo Saturday night, the draw
for two turkeys took place. The
winners were Miss Jeanette Wil-
son of Seaforth and Mrs. Dutot
of Brucefield.
The members helping with
sale of tickets at the bingo were
Miss Cluff, Miss Dorothy Parke,
Mrs. Scott Habkirk and Mrs. F.
R. Cosford,
The Hospital Auxiliary would
like to thank the members of
the Legion and all who helped
donate to this project.
Dublin CWL
Has Meeting
The monthly meeting of the
Dublin Catholic Women's
League was held in the parish
hall Tuesday evening. Mrs.
Harold Meagher presided. Min-
utes and correspondence were
read by the secretary, Miss Dor-
othy Dillon, and Mrs.. Joe Shea
gave the treasurer's report.
The sick and shut-ins will re-
ceive treats at Christmas. The
program consisted of selections
of songs by Bernadette Nagle,
Mary Margaret Klinkhammer,
Norah Ann MacRae, Rosalie and
Mary Helen Ducharme.
Two mystery prizes were won
by Mrs. James Delaney and Mrs.
Clarence Looby. Mrs. Brosens
moved the meeting be adjourn.

Funeral services for the late
Mrs. David Ryan were held from
the G. A. Whitney Funeral
Home on Friday, Dec. 13. The
Rev. H . Donaldson officiated,
with temporary entombment in
the Elizabeth Ritz Memorial
Chapel, Mitchell. '
Pallbearers were Walter Mur-
ray, Frank Lamont, Alvin Sil-
lery, Bi11 Hodgert, E. C. Bos-
well and Charles MacKay.

who have been spending the
past three weeks with his bro-
ther, Mr. Alex Roney and Mrs.
Roney and other friends, re-
turned to their home in Im-
perial, Sask., last week.
Mrs. Leslie Williams and Mrs.
Nelson Heal, Mitchell, visited
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roney on
Thursday.
Mrs. Dalton Malcolm was in
London on Wednesday attend-
ing the funeral of the late Mrs.
R. Hammond.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gonion
and Barry, Seaforth, and Mr.
and Mrs. George Henderson and
family, Mitchell, were dinner
guests of Mr, and- Mrs. Rosa
Pepper.
Mrs. Alexia Malcolm and Mr
and Mrs. Jack Malcolm visited
Mr, and -Mrs. Harvey Hyde and
family recently.
Mrs. Mary Malcolm received
word on Monday that her niece,
Miss Mary E. Graham, Dresden,
had slipped and fell on a street
and was taken to Chatham Gen-
eral Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hannon
and Jean, Mitchell, served their
former farm neighbors to a de-
licious turkey dinner last week.
