STOREY ON 35th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. William James Storey were guests of honor with their family 'and relatives at a pleasant surprise gather- ing at the home of their daugh- ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Merton Keyes, Thursday even- ing, August 29, which marked their 35th wedding anniversary. After playing progressive euchre, Mr. Sam Scott conveyed best wishes to the happy cou- ple. They were then presented with lovely gifts in honor of the occasion, with presentations made by their grandchildren: Evelyn, Paul and Vanda Storey. Mr. and Mrs. Storey express- ed their appreciation to all for cards, gifts . and the pleasant evening that had been planned in their honor. Church Groups FIRESIDE GROUP The members of the Fireside Group of First Church met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gor- don Beuttenmiller on Wednes- day evening when they enjoyed a steak cookout and wieners. The weather was unpleasant for outdoor activities, but the boys managed to cook some of the steaks under the trees. Mrs. G. Beuttenmiller, the president, was in the chair and conducted the included plans fet dinner to 23, and a bake Sept. 27, and spring. The October meeting will be held at the home of Miss Janet and Scott Cluff on October 1, with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cum. ing in charge of the program. . The- meeting closed by re- peating the Lord's Prayer in unison, after which Frank Kling thanked the, Buettenmillers for their kind hospitality. SENIOR WMS MEETS The Senior WMS of First Presbyterian Church met at the home of Mrs. W. J. Thompson Tuesday, Aug. 26. Vice-presi- dent Mrs. J. W. Thompson op- ened the meeting with a hymn. Mrs. McGregor read the scrip- ture, followed by prayer by Miss Belle Campbell. Miss Fraser and Mrs. J. W. Thompson fav- ored with a duet; "The 23rd Psalm," also . Mrs. Thompson gave the meditation on the psalm. Miss Fraser, the president, then took over the meeting. In the absence of Mrs. J. B. Rus- sell, the secretary, Miss Marion Gray ,read the minutes of the last meeting, followed by the roll call answered by 20 ladies. A letter from Auburn was read regarding the rally to be held there Sept. 10th. The collec- tion was received by Miss Camp- bell , and dedicated by Miss Fraser. A hymn followed and the meeting closed with the Lord's Prayerin unison. Mrs. Thompson and her help ers served a delicious lunch and a social half-hour was spent.
