Entertains 72 At Huronview Twenty-five members of Hen- sall Women's 'Institute enter- tained 75 residents of Huron - view and presented a program Wednesday afternoon, with Mrs. Beverley Beaton, president, pre- siding. The program included community singing, led by Mrs. Beaton, with Mrs. Laird Mickle accompanying at the piano; vo- cal duet, the Misses Carolyn and Beth Cook; readings, Miss M. Ellis; piano solo, Miss Jane Pyette; "Reminiscence of Ex- periences on the Farm," Mrs. Fred Beer; medley of piano selections, Mrs. Laird Mickle. Birthday gifts were present- ed to twelve residents having birthdays in August, and gifts presented to two former mem- bers of the institute, presenta- tions being made by Mrs. Rob- ert Elgie. Luncheon was serv- ed, including a birthday cake, and a social hour spent. Members were taken on a conducted tour of the home. Committee in charge of ar- rangements were Mrs. George Armstrong, Mrs. Carl Payne, Mrs. Robert Elgie and Miss Greta Lammie. Weekly News of Hensall Mr. Sim Roobol received word of the death of his brother, John Roobol, 58, of Klaaswaal, Holland, who passed away Mon- day, August 19, having been hospitalized for 17 weeks with a fractured hip. Mr. E. B. Norminton left Thursday of last week for Southport, England, sailing from Montreal on the Empress of England for a two months' va- cation with his sister and sev- eral nieces there. Mrs. Ben Grey, of Binscarth, Man., who has been visiting her cousin, Miss M. Ellis, took sud- denly ill and was admitted to Clinton Public Hospital. Mrs. Harry Caldwell and Mrs. Stirling Graham expect to leave the latter part of August on a six-day conducted tour of Mont- real, Quebec and the•Saguenay. Scrape off all clinging droppings; sweep down cobwebs and dust on walls, ceiling, etc. 3. Now is the time to make all repairs that are needed., 4. Apply Purina Insect Oil to all wood surfaces and dirt floors: It kills, worm eggs, coccidia and other common poultry diseases. 5. Scrub feeders, waterers and all other equipment with Purina Disinfectant. 6. Spray house with Purina Disinfectant Concentrate. Mix one ounce to 6 gallons of water. 7. When house is dry put new litter down. 4 to 6 inches is fine. 8. Make sure you have a dis mfeotant pad' or disinfectant brush at every door. 9. Driver of the other car, John De Rui- ter, 17, of RR 6, Strathroy, was admitted to Victoria Hospital with injuries. Shower Complimenting Miss Sharon Black of Zurich, bride -elect: 4f Saturday, Sept. 7, Mrs. Robert Beaver of Hensall was hostess at her home Wednesday eve- ning for a miscellaneous shower in her honor and attended by thirty-three relatives, including four grandmothers of the bride and groom -elect. Presentation address was read by Mrs. Robert Beaver and the lovely gifts, carried in a basket in pink and white motif by Miss Sylvia Bell and Miss Betty Lynn Koehler, were presented to the guest of honor, who was seated in a chair decorated with color schemes of pink and white, over which was suspend- ed a blue umbrella. A period of recreation was enjoyed and several prizes awarded in the contests. For guessing the number of jelly beans in the jar, Mrs. Harold Jones. of Kippen was the win- ner. Winners of the lucky cups were Mrs. Reith McBride and Mrs. Ethel McBride of Zurich: Mrs. Ken Pollock favored with a humorous reading. Miss Block expressed thanks in a fit- ting manner. Luncheon was served. Mrs. Beaver was assist- ed by her sister, Mrs, Ken Pol- lock, and her mother, Mrs. Har- old Bell. Mrs. Pat Regier of Zurich gave a surprise shower at her home in honor of the bride - elect, attended by her girl friends, and on Thursday eve- ning Mrs. Albert Clausius of Zurich entertained at a miscel- laneous presentation, arranged by the neighbors.
