Friends Honor •CONStANCE. ,NI'S OF' THE WEEK
Stimore Family
Leaving McKillop
About 100 friends and neigh
bors of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Sti-
more met at SS No. 9, McKil-
lop, on Saturday evening to say
farewell to them as they leave
for their new home in Strat-
ford.
Euchre and Lost Heir were
enjoyed, with Mrs. Shortreed
and, Nelson Reid winning high
prizes, and Graham Craig and
Mrs. Cole winning low prizes.
The following address was
read by Mrs: William Roe:
Dear Katie and Alvin: With
mixed emotions, we, your
friends and neighbors,) have met
tonight to enjoy one more so-
cial evening before you leave
for your new home in the Clas-
sic City of Stratford. We are
glad that the days of hard farm
work are over, but sorry to lose
you from our midst.
Through the years you have
always been ready with your
cheerful personalities, to share
in all community efforts, and
ever ready in times of troubles
to offer a helping hand. Your
home has always been a fav-
orite place for young and old
to visit. We have all spent hap-
py hours in your company.
You, Katie, have the knack
of making any house you live
in a "home" and we know that
83 McNab St. will soon radiate
the same warmth and hospital-
ity that your home here did.
Stratford's gain will be our loss.
Alvin, you will be missed too.
We hotie your new work will
prove interesting and success-
ful. May the market for Raw-
.leigh's ointment and "Pleasant
Relief" never fail, and may
many friendships be formed in
the time you spend as "The
Rawleigh Man."
Seriously, we do pray that
God will bless you both with
health and happiness. May you
often find time to visit old
friends as you make new ones.
Please accept these gifts as
tokens of our best wishes for
your future. Signed on behalf
of your friends and neighbors. -
Campbell Wey, Murray Den-
nis and Harvey Craig presented
them with a mirror, a chair and
a hassock. Mr. and Mrs. Stimore
replied, thanking everyone and
extending a warm welcome to
all to visit them in Stratford.
