Miss Betty Hoggart returned home on Sunday after spend- ing a couple of weeks with her sister, Mrs. Paul McMaster, and Mr. McMaster of Ridgetown. Miss Joan Preszcator return- ed home last Tuesday after. vis- iting in Exeter. Miss Sylvia Sanderson of Blyth 'spent a few days last week ,yith Miss Joyce Brown. ZION Miss Beverley Smale, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Smale, is spending a few holi- days with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Martin Brit- ton, also Rose Marie with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Parsons, at Owen Sound. Mr. and Mrs. Don Lett and daughter, Cathy, Ottawa, visit ed et the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell and attended the funeral of the latter's grand- mother, Mrs. Walter Edwards of Ottawa and formerly of Mit- chell. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Rogers, Windsor, visited his sister, Mrs. Elmore Kleinfeldt, and also his brother, Mr. Errol Rogers and Mrs. Rogers, over the weekend. Both are former teachers, Mrs. Rogers being past president of the Ontario Retired Teachers' Association. Miss Ethel Mae Mitchell is attending, the teen camp of the United Church at the Goderich summer school this week. Visitors at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Dalton Malcolm and Mrs. Mary Malcolm on Sunday were her sister, Mrs. Alb. H. Yed, Mr. and 1Mrs. Bob .Yeo, Sandra, Greg and Randy, of To- ronto; Mr. and Mrs. George Pepper, Mitchell; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pepper and Grant. Mrs. Ross Gordon and Barry, Seaforth, visited with her mother, Mrs. Mary Malcolm, on Thursday. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barker on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Jeffery and family and Mrs. Rhea Jef- fery, Staffa. Mrs. Dalton Malcolm enter- tained at her home on Friday in honor of her mother, Mrs. George Gibh's 72nd birthday. Those included .,in the party were Mrs.. Clayton Sheldon, Wendy and Twyla, Mr. and Mrs. George Gibb, Mrs. Ron Gibb, Nancy, Cindy arid Gagyle, Mrs. Stewart Shackleton, Mr's.' Wm. N I'.WS Ok' CROIIAR l rea grade Students End Bible School Classes A program by the pupils of the different grades concluded a very successful five-day Bible School, which was held in Crom- arty Church, under the leader- ship of Rev. J. C. Boyne. Mrs. Elmer Dow was music director. The average daily attendance was 10$. Those in charge of the kin- dergarten group were Mrs. Mer- vin Dew, Carol Ann Dow, Mrs. Murray Christie and Joan Chris- tie; leaders for the primary group. were Mrs. E. Chappel, Adeline Chappel, Patricia Har- ris, Verlyn Miller', June Munn, Mrs. Boyce and Mrs. McGregor. Mrs. Alex Miller, Shirley Gard- iner, Mrs. Norman Dow and Mrs. M. Lammond led the jun- ior group, and Mrs. T. L. Scott, the senior group. Thgse graduat- ing were Joan Dow, Margaret Roberts, David Dow, Ruth Cud- more, udmore, Ruth Ann Coleman and Ettie Wynja, Mr. and Mrs. William Kay of London were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McCurdy. Margaret is com- mencing ommencing her nursing duties at Victoria Hospital in August: Kippen East W.I. The Kippen East Women's In- stitute will hold their July meeting at the home of Mrs. G. MacLean Wednesday, July 24, at 8:30 in the evening. Mrs. G. Bell will be co -hostess. Roll call will be, "One advantage of the Home and School Asso- ciation." This is the educational meet- ing and the motto will be, "Ed- ucation means developing the mind, not stuffing the mem- ory." A debate will be held, "Resolved that the modern schoolhouse turns out better citizens than the old red school- house." •A poem will be given by Marg Consitt.
