For New Tear
Eippen East WI met at the
home of Mrs. Robert Gemmell
for the annual meeting, with
the president, Mrs. W. Bell, in
the chair. Mrs. Charles Eyre
was co -hostess. Mrs. W. Broad -
foot gave a poem.
Various items of business
were dealt with and bus trip
planned. Reports of standing
committees were given; and
Mrs. Robert Elgie installed the
officers for 1963-64.

Easter weekend guests with
Mr. .and Mrs. John Sinclair in-
cluded: Mr. and Mrs. Tom But-
ler, of Arva; Mr. Riley and
daughter, Sharon, and Mr. and
Mrs. Allan Grigg and daughters,
all of London.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gack-
stetter and family, of Guelph,
and Mrs. Horney, of Exeter,
visited recently with Mr. and
Mrs. Edgar McBride and Shar-
on.
Miss Marie Sinclair, nurse at
St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
is visiting a few days with her
parents; Mr. and Mrs. John Sin-
clair and Joan.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar McBrideg
and Sharon attended Scouts and
CGIT service Sunday at Bruce -
field United Church, later visit-
ing Mr, and Mrs. Robert Dal-
rymple' and daughters.
Mr. and Mrs, F. W. Rown-
tree, of Weston, visited over
the weekend with the former's
sister, Mrs. Long, and Mr. Long.
Sunday visitors were Mr. and
Mrs. 0. Brown, of Detroit, and
Mrs. Ulch, of Windsor. Mr.
Lloyd Dowson, of Seaforth,
called an Monday.

Mr. Peter Williams under-
went an operation at St. Jos-
eph's Hospital, London, Thurs-
day last.
Mrs. Emily Parker was tak-
en by ambulance last Saturday
to South Huron Hospital, Exe-
ter.
Miss Betty Ann Lazenby has
returned to her' home in BeIle-
ville after spending the. Easter
vacation with her grandmother,
Mrs. Hazel Rathwell.
Mr. and Mrs. AIbert Alexan-
der flew by jet last week to
Vancouver, B.C., where they
will vacation with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer John-
ston and family left Saturday
for London, where they have
taken up residence,
Miss Viola Lemmon, of To-
ronto, and Mr. Preston Lem -
mon, of London, were weekend
guests with Mrs. Leona Parke
and Patricia.
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Stretton
and family, of Lucan, and Mrs.
Jack MacFarlane and family, of
Forest, spent Easter week with
Mrs. Minnie Sangster.
Mr. Ross Jinks was in Ot-
tawa for the weekend, attend-
ing a soft-drink school.
Mr. Charles Eckel left Sun-
day to spend 10 weeks at Trade
School, Toronto.

The Legion bingo Saturday
night was well attended. Share
the wealth bingo was won by
Keith Lightfoot, Strathroy; door
prizes, Mrs. Norval Reid and
Reg Dick.

CGIT Hold Affiliation
Members . of the Women's
Missionary Society, Arnold Cir-
cle and mothers were invited
to the affiliation service of the
Hensall CGIT group. Miss Ruth
Smale and Miss Ann Lawrence
received their World Friend-
ship badge and WMS member-
ship card.
The purpose of the WMS is
to unite the women, girls and
children of the church in pray-
er, study and service for the
advancement ' of the Kingdom
of God at home and abroad.
This membership is obtained by
participating in the mission stu-
dy project and contributing to
the general funds of the socie-
ty.
Miss Patricia Moir began the
program by introducing Miss
Ruth Smale, who sang a beau-
tiful solo. The climax of the
evening was a fashion show of
the latest "Hill -Billy" styles;
with Miss Ruth Smale as 'Jed;
Miss Patricia Schwalm as Gran -
nay; Miss Barbara Schwalm as
Ellie Mae; Miss Rose Marie Niel -

Miss hazel MacDonald, of Gode-
rich, a retired -missionary from
Formosa, speaking on Formosa
and.. the Holy Land, enhanced
with lovely slides, who also in-
troduced Marlene Rader and
Ruth Anne Fleischauer, of Zur-
ich, who modelled in Formosan
costumes. The speaker was in-
troduced by Mrs. Ross MacDon-
ald and thanked by Mrs. Ed.
Fink.
Special guests were the ladies
of Zurich Lutheran Church, two
groups from Seaforth First
Presbyterian Church, the WMS
and CGIT from Carmel Church,
and friends.
Mrs. Beverly Beaton and Mrs.
A. Scholl were in charge of the
program and worship. Soloist,
Mrs. W. E. Butt, of Seaforth,
sang a selection, and Marlene
Rader and Ruth Anne Fleis-
chauer, of Zurich, sang a duet.
Mrs. Pearl Love and Mrs. M.
Dougall sang a duet, with Mrs.
E. Munn at the organ console.
President Mrs. Gordon Schwalm
chaired the meeting,
During luncheon, convened
by Mrs. Gerald Bell, Mrs. John
Baker, Mrs. Don Mousseau and
the Misses Patricia and Barbara
Schwalm modelled Formosan
costumes.
Mrs. Malcolm Dougall was
pianist for the meeting and• al-
so accompanied for the special
numbers. , Mrs. MacDonald and
Mrs. Schwalm formed the . re-
•ception committee, and Mrs.
Robert Bell, Mrs. . Allan Hog-
garth, Mrs. Trevor Wilson and
Mrs. John Skea ushered.
