McCourt, who has been accountant at the Cana- dian Imperial Bank of Com- merce here for 41,4z years, has been promoted to accountant at the Tijlsonburg branch of the bank. Mrs. Rosena Miller and Mrs. Ed, Fischer accompanied Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Miller, RR 2, Walton, to Waterloo, Ont., to visit with Mrs, Toleda Beuer- mann and Mr, Peter Miller, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry KIPPEN NEWS A farewell party was given by neighbors and friends on Friday evening at Staffs Hall, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ross and family, of RR 2, Kip - pen, who very shortly will be leaving the district to reside in Exeter. Several tables of euchre were in play. Winners were: ladies' high, Mrs. A. Ross; ladies' low, Mrs. Theo Hauwert; men's high, D. McDonald; men's low, Orville Cooper. The address was read by Or- ville Cooper and' gifts present- ed by Bruce Armstrong, Lloyd Cooper, Alex Miller and Jack Consitt. They received a coffee table, a magazine rack, and Elaine was presented with a cup and saucer, and Gordon, a set of cuff links and a tie -clip. Mrs. Leo Stephenson, who Spent the winter in Florida, has returned home. OF THE WEEK Mrs. Bert Thomson was ad- mitted to St. Joseph's Hospital, London, on Friday in the in- terests of her health. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Storey and Bill, of Seaforth, and Mr. and Mrs. John McNichol, of Blyth, recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thomson to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Mr, and Mrs. Sam Storey. The table was centered with a two-storey wed. ding cake, decorated in pink and white. The couple received a large bouquet of red roses, Stylemaster, three-ply stainless steel cookware and a bouquet of artificial flowers. Mr, and Mrs. Bert Thomson and family recently visited Mr. and Mrs. S. Storey and Bill at Seaforth. The babies are the first grandchildren for Mr. and Mrs. Pearson Charters and also for Mr. and Mrs. Alex McGregor, and the first great-grandchil- dren for Mrs. John McGregor, Seaforth. The babies were born the day following the twin mothers' own birthday on April 4, when they were also born in Scott Memorial Hospital, Seaforth.
