secret sister for that year. At
the end of the year she reveals
her identity and chooses an-
other name, but this is quite
optional.

tions were made for three de-
partment short courses: No. 1,
"Finishing of Garments"; No,
2, "Desserts"; No. 3, "Health
Education or Helps For Home

will be made at the district

Heads Union
Edgar Rathwell was 'elected
president of Huron, County
Farmers' Union on Thursday
night. Ile succeeds Ray Hanna,
Provincial President Mea Teb-
butt was present and gave a
brief address. Ile told the
members if sound agricultural
policy in Canada is to be built,
it must be done by the farmers
themselves. In urging support of
the QFU, he reminded the
farmers ,that when it comes to
getting farm policy across, they
can't hope to do as individuals
what they can through a strong
organization. "The dilemma of
farm organization is • the time
it takes to get an idea accepted
by the government," he said.
He concluded by saying it
often takes years for a farm
organization to agree on an
idea, but we expect the gov-
ernment to accept it overnight.
