Wins Award
In the story which accompan-
ied a picture which appeared in
last week's issue showing pres-
entation of the Religion and Life
award of the Anglican Church
of Canada to Chris Coombs, the
fact that the award also was
presented at the same time to
Paul Spittal, of the First Sea -
forth Troop, was omitted.

Mrs. Henry Ford and chil-
dren, of Fort Wayne, Indiana,

Mrs. E. H. Close.
Mrs. J. B. Russell attended
the executive secretary's con-
ference of the Ontario Tuber-
culosis Association in Toronto
the beginning of the week.
Mrs. John, Hillebrecht is a
patient in Scott Memorial Hos-
pital.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mason and
son, John, of Acton, visited Mr.
and Mrs. George Munro and
family on Sunday.
Messrs. Ronald and Ross Ren-
nie, of Toronto, were guests of
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.
R. Rennie.
Mrs. Andrew A. Moore is a
patient in Scott' Memorial Hos-
pital.
Mrs. W. E. Butt attended the
annual meeting of the Ontario
Division of the Canadian Red
Cross Society, which was held
on the 28th and 29th of March
at The Royal York Hotel, To-
ronto.

tending the funeral of E. H.

J. G. Taman and family, Belle-
fontaine, Ohio (Mrs. Taman and
family are remaining for a

have returned from a month's
trip to Oklahoma, where they
were on business, and to Flor-
ida, where they visited friends
and relatives.
Mrs. Thomas Elder has re-
turned from a visit to London.
Mr.. and Mrs. Andrew Mc-
Nichol visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Elliott in Kitchener
over the weekend and attended
the annual open -house at the
Mutual Life Insurance Company
on Friday evening.
Mrs. Arnold Westcott and
Miss Shirley Rouleau, Toronto,
visited with Mrs. E. C. Cham-
berlain and Miss Marion Cham-
berlain over the weekend.
Mr. Bev Henderson, of To-
ronto, spent the weekend at
the home of his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Henderson.

Tuckersmith council. The plans
will be submitted to the On-
tario Water Resources Commis-
sion for approval, and work will
commence as soon as approval
is obtained from the Ontario
Municipal Board.
William Campbell was , re-
appointed tile drainage inspec-
tor, and the Clerk as building
inspector for the township for
1963. The report of the North
Branch Black Creek Municipal
Drain was read, and Clerk J. I.
McIntosh instructed to prepare
the enabling bylaw. The South
Huron and Central Huron Agri-
cultural Societies were each
given grants of $100 for 1963.
Council is considering a weed
spray program, whereby all
township roadsides would be
sprayed near the end of May,
subject to the approval of the
Department of Highways.
The following accounts were
passed for payment: Roads, $3,-
548.41; welfare, $35; advertis-
ing and supplies, $72.45; ad-
ministration, $416.18; Commun-
ity Services and Association
fees, $230; Egmondville Water
System No. 1, $184.13; warble
fly program, $190:
The next regular meeting
will be held on May 7, at 8

Legion members of Zone C-1
named Allan Nicholson, past
president of Seaforth Branch
156, as deputy zone command-
er at a well -attended meeting
in Lucknow on Sunday. He suc-
ceeds Eric Johnston, of Gode-
rich, who was named zone com-
mander.
Attending the meeting from
Seaforth were Mr. Nicholson,
President R. S. MacDonald,
Jack Eisler, Charles Wood and
George D. Hays.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller
and family were Friday evening
supper guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Calvin Christie and family,
Thames Road.
Mrs. Anthony Brait, from
Beaconsfield, Quebec, is spend-
ing this week with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Norris.
Mrs. Mary' Templeman is vis-
iting with Mr. and Mrs. Wilfrid
Annis and family, RR 3, Mit-
chell.
Mr. Sam Norris is a patient
in Victoria Hospital, London.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Willard
and family, Exeter, visited Sun-
day 'with Mr. and Mrs. Johnny
Miller and Karen.
Mr. and Mrs. Reg Elliott and
daughters spent the weekend in
Detroit, Michigan.
Miss Margaret Worden,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rus-
sell Worden, and Randy Moore,
son of Mr. and Mrs. George
Moore, were two of the winners
at the public speaking held re-
cently in Staffa Township Hall,
and sponsored by the Canadian
Legion. Both children compet-
ed at the Legion in Mitchell
on Thursday evening with Ran-
dy placing first in the Juniors
and Margaret placing third in
the Seniors. Randy competed
again in Milverton on Sunday
afternoon and placed second.
Both are pupils. of S.S. No. 3,
Hibbert, and Mrs. Margaret
Kemp is their teacher.
