Broomball on the ice in the shed was played for an hour preceding the devo- tions and business, followed by lunch. Mr. and Mrs. John Gloor and Mrs. Ford Dickison were in charge of devotions and lunch. The president, Lloyd Prueter, was in charge of busi- ness, and Mrs. Harold Elligsen, the .secretary, Meeting the minutes of the last and the highlights of the past year. The treasurer, Mervyn Hodgert, gave his report. Pastor Brill was in charge of the election of officers which re- sulted as follows: President, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hoegy; vice-president, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gloor; secretary, Mn and Mrs. Edgar Elligsen; treasurer, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hinz; audi- tors, Mr. and Mrs. Harold El- ligsen. Other committees are to be appointed by the executive. The next meeting is to be held Feb. 26 with a box social, each couple to bring a guest couple. Mr. Hoegy, . the new president, closed the business. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hinz en- tertained the members to a dinner at their home recently. Church Women Meet s� The February meeting of the Lutheran Church Women was held with 28 members ,and 12 visitors present. The opening devotions were token by the executive, 'Mrs. Oscar Young, Mrs. George Mogk, Mrs. Edwin Scherbarth, Mrs. Russell Shop dice, with Mrs. Dan Beuerman at the piano for the singing of the hymns. Mrs. Luther Eberhardt, .Mil- verton; was the guest speaker. Her topic was Membership." Mrs. Eberhardt was introduced - by Mrs. Oscar Young and thank- ed by Mrs. Martin Dietz. Three members with perfect attendance for -the year, Mrs. Ed. Scherbarth, Mrs.. Irvin Mil- ler and Mrs. Dalton Hinz, and ones member, Mrs. •Geo. Rock, with three-year perfect attend- ance, were presented with gifts on behalf of the group by Mrs. Manuel Beuerman, and Mrs. Edwin Scherbarth read a suit - ST. Comedian Eddie Cantor is of- ten haunted by memories of a child he met while visiting an Israeli orphanage. He was pass- ing out gifts to the children when he noticed one little girl standing alone and dejected. He went to her and asked, "Isn't there something I can do for you, honey?" Bennewies, Mrs. Henry Leon- hardt, Sr., Mrs. Milton Rock, -Mrs. T cede Wietersen and Mrs. Henry Rose, It was decided not to have the World Day of Prayer at the church this year, and those who can should go wherever it is being held. Mrs. Eberhardt extended an• invitation to at- tend the service in Milverton, which is on 1st of March. The members are catering to the Luther League rally on Sun- day and the Ladies' Night of the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, both at the Commun- ity Hall. The ladies of the ex- ecutive served a dinner to the Sunday School teachers recentf ly. Birthdays were reported by Mrs. Harold 'Mogk, Mrs. C. W. Leonhardt, Mrs. Ed. Scharbarth, Mrs. Charles Ahrens, Mrs. Al- bert Bauer, and Mrs. John L. Bennewies. A hymn was sung in their honor. A skit, "Thank You, Doctor," was presented by about 10 members. The touch - and -take table, centered with a floral arrangement, in charge of Mrs. Dalton Hinz and Mrs. Harold Rock, was well patron- ized and realized $32.09. Lunch was served by Mrs. Jonas Ditt- mer, Mrs. Boyd Driscoll, Mrs. Harold Elligsen, Mrs. Dalton Hinz, Mrs: Lew Hicks, Mrs. C. W. Leonhardt, Mrs. George Mogk and Mrs. Harold .Mogk. Jane Elizabeth Gloor, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray- mond Gloor, was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church by Pastor Brill on Sunday, with Mr. and Mrs.- Alvin Ahrens, Miss Joyce.
