Mr, William Jewitt attended the Bruce County annual meet- ing of the Children's Aid So- ciety at Walkerton on Satur- day. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Gloush- er and Mr. and Mrs. William Jewitt attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Youngblutt on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Clarke, of Seaforth, spent Saturday eve- ning with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Riley, Word was received of the sudden passing of Mn.' William Bremner, of Barrie, a brother- in-law of Messrs. Walter and Wilfred Scott, of this commun- ity. At the time of death he was in Florida. Miss Laura Hoggart, of Lon- don, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hoggart. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Lawson visited with Mrs. Alice Lawson of Clinton, last Tuesday eve- ning. Mr. and Mrs. Reg Lawson attended the funeral of the late, Sam Whitmore on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Simon Dyk and iVIr, and Mrs. Dick Dyk and Sim- on, of Galt, spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Haverkamp and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Gloush- er and family visited with Mr. Glousher's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glousher, on Sun- day. Mr. Donald Buchanan is iri Toronto this week attending the Ontario Rural Municipalities' convention at the King Edward Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Jewitt and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Medd were in London last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. George Leitch spent last Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Flynn, of -Sea- forth. * * * The boys, who were on the road again, didn't fare quite so well. The seniors brought home their victory, 48-33, but the juniors lost 58-19. The senior marksmen were Patterson 16, Akker 12, McKercher 8, Wil- liamson 7, Rowat 2, and Schnei- der 1. The strong man for Wingham was Strong, of course (excuse the wretched pun, but I've been reading Shakespeare), with 11 points. The junior scor- ers were Smith 8, Cardno 2, Wright, 2, Jessome 2, Newham 2, Hassen 1, Scott 1, and Etue 1. Bismayer wrapped up 23 points for Wingham. On the report on the senior game, I find the cryp- tic notice: "No evictions' for fouls." Is that unusual? (A note on critical comments: These comments do not origin- ate from me, because ..I don't see enough of the games to be capable of commenting critical- ly. I just faithfully write. down what I am told). * * * On Monday the Seaforth teams began a two -game home - and -home series with Mitchell, to decide who plays at WOSSA "B" (for tiny schools like ours), total points to count.
