tending the funeral of the late
Herman Williams, who passed
away on Tuesday. Also Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Barker were in
Burford on Thursday.
Mrs. Vera Moore attended the
funeral of her brother, the late
Heyman Williams, and is now
staying for a time with her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Williams.

An enjoyable ,.evening was
spent at SS 9, Tuckersmith, Sat-
urday, when a shower was held
for Miss Margaret Wqod, teach-
er, at Seaforth Public School.
The program opened with
singing and a humorous read-
ing by Miss Dorothy Jackson.
Miss Marjorie Papple showed
slides of her recent trip to
England.
Miss Wood was called to the
front and. seated in a decorated
chair. Miss Gail Finlayson, read
the address. The bride of Christ-
mas Day received many useful
gifts, and made a fitting reply.

Mrs. Colin Gilfillan and Grant
attended the funeral of their
uncle, the, late James Hay, at
Seaforth on Friday.
The Elimv-ille Sunday School
held their. Christmas concert
Saturday evening .at the church.Those taking part were the CG
IT girls, 'Messengers' and each
Sunday School class. Santa
Claus arrived at the close of
the program and distributed
the gifts and also the bags of
candy for the children.

Auxiliary Meets
At Cranbrook
The December meeting of the
Cranbrook Evening Auxiliary
was. held Monday evening, Dec.
17, at the home of Mrs. Gordon
Engel, with 12 members and
two visitors present. The lead-
er, Mrs. Jack Knight, opened
the meeting with a Christmas
verse, followed by prayer. The
first three verses of Hymn 165
were sung. The scripture, Luke
2, verses 2.14, were read in uni-
son. The first two verses of
Hymn •171 were sung, and Jean
Evans led in prayer.
The topic, "Three, Bells For
the Steeple," was read by Elean-
or Stevenson. The meeting was
then turned over to the. presi-
dent. The minutes of the last
meeting were read and approv-
ed. The 'correspondence was
read. Mrs'. Leslie Knight will
give a report on the Evening
Auxiliary rally at the annual
meeting of the Presbyterial So-
ciety held in St. Andrew's Pres-
byterian Church, Wingham, Jan.
8th, at 10 a.m. The roll call
was answered by a Christmas
verse.
The treasurer's report was
given by Helen Smith. The C.
0. C. report was given by Elean-
or Stevenson. The library 'and
literature report ivas given by
Kap Kfeifer. The collection was
taken by Helen Smith.
Marilyn Engel 'declared all
offices vacant. The following
were elected: President, Mrs.
Jim Knight; vice-president, Mrs.
Nelson; secretary, Mrs. Doug
Evans; assistant secretary, Mrs.
Glen Huether; treasurer, Mrs.
Frank Smith; Welcome and Wel-
fare, Eleanor Stevenson; Lib-
rary and Literature secretary,
Marilyn Engel; press reporter,
Mrs. Doug Evans; COC Leader,
Eleanor Stevenson; assistant
leader, Mrs. •Leslie Knight.
The meeting closed by sing-
ing the first two verses of Hymn
169, followed by prayer by the
leader, Mrs. Jack Knight. Lunch
was served by the hostess, as-
sisted by Doris McDonald.
