presenting each child with
treats and a gift.
Seventeen Christmas boxes
were packed and delivered to
shut-ins by the ladies of St.
Andrew's United Church. Mrs.
Ross Broadfoot, Mrs. Alex Mc-
Murtrie and Mrs. Ralph Turner
were in charge of packing the
boxes; Mrs. Emerson Kyle, the
delivery of boxes.
Mrs. E. Dowson Has gone to
Seaforth, where she expects to
remain for the winter months.
Mr. Eldon Jarrott returned
home recently after being hos-
pitalized in St, Joseph's Hospi-
tal, London.
White Gift Service
On Sunday at St. Andrew's
United Church, white gift ser-
vice was well attended. Mrs.
John Sinclair was in charge of
the service. The scripture was
read by Jim Kyle. The ' junior
choir, under the direction of
the leader, Miss Jean Ivison,
sang "Asleep While God Comes
Down."
Sharon McBride told the
story, "What Shall We Children
Bring?" Joan Finkbeiner gave
the offering dedication, "What
Can I Give To Him"; Joan Sin-
clair and Grant Jones favored
with a duet, "Little Baby
Jesus."
St. Andrew's United Church
Women met in the Sunday
schoolrooms on Tuesday after-
noon, Dec. 11, at 2 o'clock. Thir-
teen ladies were present. The
president, Mrs. H. Jones, chair-
ed the meeting, Mrs. Ralph
Turner Was in charge of the
worship. Minutes were read
and adopted by the secretary,
Mrs. E. Consitt, and the treas-
urer, Mrs. E. McLean, gave her
report.
The past year's projects were
discussed and plans for 1963.
The 19,62 executive will be ac-
tive for another year, all re-
maining the same. The hostess
was Mrs. Ross Love, and co -hos-
tess was Mrs. Harold Jones.
BRODHAGEN
The' sympathy of the com-
munity is extended to Mrs. Mil-
ton Rock and other relatives in
the death of her sister, Mrs,
Russell Dolmage (Adeline -Sie-
mon) and brother-in-law, Rus-
sell Dolmage, whose funeral
was held on Monday.
Mrs. Ivan Bennewies has
been confined to Stratford Gen-
eral Hospital and is now in Vic-
toria Hospital, London.
The Brodhagen Band, major-
ettes and flagbearers took part
in the Santa Claus parade 'in
Mitchell on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tait have
moved to reside in Mitchell.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mulholland
are moving into the Tait apart-
ment.
Mr. and Mrs, Russell Sholdice
and family have moved into
their new house which they
built in the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary, Sholdice,
Paul and Mark, who have been
temporarily residing 'with his
grandmother. Mrs. W. L. Quer-
engesser for the past ten
months, have moved into the
apartment vacated by Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Sholdice, above
the store.
The Mechanical Rubber Com-
pany, of Mitchell, and their
staff enjoyed a banquet and a
social evening at the Commun-
ity Hall here last Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs, Lavern Wolfe
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dave
Lemon, Seaforth, on Sunday.
Members of the Luther
League and Pastor Brill enjoy
ed a skating party at the Mil-
verton Arena, guests of Milver-
ton Luther League.
Members of the United Luth-
eran Church, Women held a
Christmas social in the church
basement, with their husbands
as guests. A delicious 'turkey
dinner was enjoyed, prepared
and served by the Bornholm
group, after which the Brodhag-
en and McKillop group present-
ed a program and games. Rus-
sell Sholdice showed pictures
of his trip to Europe. The eve-
ning closed with an exchange
of gifts. Pastor Brill was pre-
sented with a desk lamp.
