TO HEAD ORGANIZATION IN '63
The UCW of Zion United
Church held their Christmas
meeting at the home of Mrs.
R. S. Aikens on Tuesday eve-
ning, Dec. 4, with a good at-
tendance. The president, Mrs.
D. Malcolm, presided. A pro-
gram, consisting of Christmas
hymns, prayer scripture and
readings in soft candlelight was
carried out. A vocal duet,
"Star of the East," by Gladys
Roney and Sandra Smith was
much enjoyed. "
Eighteen members answered
the roll call. A reading,
"Thoughts For Christmas," was
given by Mrs. Earl Barker fol-
lowing the business portion.
The retiring president, Mrs.
D. Malcolm, thanked the execu-
tive for their help and work
during the year 1962. The
meeting was then turned over
to Rev. A. H. Daynard, who,
after all reports had been• read
and adopted, installed the new
officers for 1963 • as' follows:
president, Mrs. Lorne Aikens;
first vice-president, Mrs. Ross
Pepper; second vice-president,
Mrs. Charles Roney; secretary,
Mrs. Gordon Aikens; treasurer,
Mrs. Glenn Pepper; press re-
porter, Mrs. R. S. Aikens; pian-
ist, Mrs. Lawrence Barker; as-
ststant, Mrs. Charles honey;
buying committee, Mrs. N.
Bushfield and Mrs. Lawrence
Hannon; representative to offi-
cial board, Mrs. D. Malcolm;
Christian education, Mrs. Earl
Barker; representative to board
of stewards, Mrs. Lawrence
Barker; card secretary,- Mrs.
Lloyd Barker. Mr. Daynard
closed the meeting with pray-
er.
A demonstration on making
Christmas table centres was
conducted by Mrs. Charles
Roney. Lunch was served by
the hostess, assisted by • Mrs.
N. Bushfield and Mrs., Earl
Barker.
