TURNER'S UCW
Turner's Church UCW met in
the church" basement at 2:30
Pau. on Thursday, Nov. 29. Ten
members were present and an-
swered the toll call with a
verse from the Bibe containing
the word "Love". Mrs. G. Mc-
Gregor had charge of the devo-
tions, assisted by Mrs. IL Johns.
• A centennial gift of $25.00 is
being sent to the Huron Pres-
byterial UCW; also $20.00 to
the Turner's UCW buying com-
mittee, for children's clothing,
to be sent to the Fred Victor
Mission, Toronto, along with
any donations given b the
children at a White Gift ser-
vice at Turner's Church on
Sunday, Dec. 9th.
The next meeting is to be
held at the home of Mrs. E.
Crich at 2:30 p.m., January 10,
1963. The hostess, Mrs. Grant
Mills, served a dainty lunch.

WOODMAN—SMITH
Rev. Harold Kendrick officiat-
ed at the wedding in the Pente-
costal Church when Dorothy
Mary Smith became the bride
of Aubrey Douglas Woodman.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Archibald Smith, RR
5, Seaforth, and the groom is
the son of Mrs. Marion Wood-
man andthe late John Wood-
man, New Harbour, Newfound-
land.
The bride chose a full-length
gown of net over taffeta with a
sequin neckline. A crown of
sequins held her scalloped net
veil, and she carried a bouquet
of red roses.
Miss Ruth Norris was maid
of honor, and Miss Dianne
Fischer, bridesmaid. They wore
identical royal blue velvet waltz
length gowns with white feath,
ered hats, and carried bouquets
of white mums, The sister of
the bride, Sandra Smith, was
flower -girl.- She wore a royal
blue velvet top and white and
blue nylon skirt over taffeta.
Ronald. Howard, Goderich,
was best man. Donald 'Bray, of
Brussels, and Grant Rakestrow,
Cold Lake, Alberta, were ush-
ers. Roger Smith, brother of
the bride, was ringbearer. The
soloist was Dianne Henderson
and pianist was Mrs. John Hen-
derson.
For travelling the bride chose
light blue brocade with fur
trim and white and black ac-
cessories. At present the cou-
ple will reside in Clinton.
BOYES—BROWN
Ontario Street United Church,
Clinton, decorated with lighted
candelabra and tall, standards
of yellow and bronze mums,
was the setting Saturday after-
noon at 3 o'clock for the wed-
ding of. Elaine Mary Brown,
Clinton, and Budd Wesley
Boyes, Clinton. The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles W. Brown, Clinton, and
the groom is the son of Mr,
and Mrs. Bert Boyes, Ontario
St., Clinton. The ceremony was
performed by the Rev. Grant
L. Mills, minister of the church.
The Pilgrim Sisters sang dur-
ing the ceremony and at the
signing, of the register.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was lovely in
a floor -length gown of peau de
faille, fashioned with French
guipure lace bodice and three-
quarter length sleeves. The
snugly -fitted bodice emphasized
a full skirt trimmed with the
same 'lace motifs and back
bustle bow from which fell a
brush train. A cluster of pearl -

leaves held her elbow -length
bouffant veil of double silk il-
lusion, and she carried a cres-
cent shaped bouquet of chalice
roses.
Miss Merlyn Hough, London,
as maid of honor; Miss Bonnie
Boyes, Clinton, sister of the
groom, and, Miss Patricia Brown,
Clinton, sister of the bride, as
bridesmaids, were gowned in
identical emerald green baller-
ina gowns of peau de soie, with
scoop neckline, three-quarter
length sleeves and finished with
large upright bows, centered by
a rosette for back interest. They
wore matching shoes and white
velvet hats, and carried cres-
cent-shaped bouquets of yellow
mums,
Beverley Boyes, of Clinton,
brother of the groom, was
groomsman, and ushering the
guests were Bayne Boyes, Clin-
ton, and Paul Draper, Clinton.
For the reception which fol-
lowed at the Elm -Haven Motor -
Hotel, Clinton, the bride's
mother received the guests
wearing a sheath of gold bro-
cade, matching accessories • and
a corsage of chalice roses. She
was assisted by the groom's
mother, who wore a French
blue chiffon sheath, matching
accessories and a corsage of
pink . roses.
For a wedding trip to New
York the bride travelled in an
autumn beige basket weave
wool ensemble, green hat, black
accessories and a corsage of
Talisman roses. Mr. and Mrs.
Boyes will reside on Blake St.,
Goderich.
Carmel COT Has
Special Meeting
The special CGIT ,meeting in
Carmel Presbyterian Church
was led by Mrs. Ed. Fink. Miss
Linda Lenaghan led in worship,
followed by prayers by Miss
Patricia Moir (dedication); Miss
Barbara Schwalm (Forgiveness),
IVliss Ruth Smale (Intercession),
and Miss Patricia Schwalm
(Thanksgiving). A hymn was
sung by the CGIT girls before
the offering, which was pre-
sented to Miss Bessie. McCur-
chy and taken up by Miss Ann
Lawrence and Miss Linda Len-
aghan. Miss Patricia Moir gave
the offertory prayer.
Mrs. Ross MacDonald intro-
duced the guest speaker, Miss
Bessie McMurchy, who showed
films and souvenirs of India. In
her talk she told of her train-
ing in order to become a mis-
sionary of India. A native of
Collingwood, she is taking fur-
ther training at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London. Miss Mc-
Murchy dressed the girls in
costumes native to India. Miss
Patricia Moir expressed grati-
tude to her.
Lunch was served by the La-
dies' Aid.

the evening euchre was enjoy-
ed and a delicious Munch was
served.

many little joys you're ,shared
together, hand in handy; so
many, little hopes and dreams
have come 'true,- just as plan-
ned. May this and all the years
to come, keep right on bringing
true, the special hopes and
dreams of yours, that mean the.
most to you. Your neighbors
wish you another fifty years
of happy married life and
would like you to accept these
small gifts as a token of our
affection and esteem."
Mrs. Chappel was presented
with a silver compact by Mrs.
Wesley Russell, and Filmer re-
ceived a sterling silver' tie clip.
